  They will never, ever apologize or even hint at having a child abuse problem.

  The inactive/DF thing is fun to think about. Poor faders might have to show up for KH serve-us once a year to keep their name on the books. Now wouldn't that be funny. I really think there is no way to really enforce that, keeping up with faders would be like herding cats.

  i was talking to an uber dub friend last night who lives in the san diego area.

  he knew nothing of the $13.5 million dollar law suit.

  when i tried to tell him that this is a systemic problem, and that this could perhaps be the tip of the ice burgh.

  like background checks for all in search of a position of authority and reporting all abuse cases to the local authorities.

  You should probably review the WT attitude toward such law in Australia, they basically gave the middle finger to the authorties simply because they didn't want to be inconvenienced.

  in one video i saw, anthony morris iii makes the comment "i come from a wealthy family, you all know that".

  does anyone know who this family is?

  Morris is a pretty common name, even if his family was related in some way to that industry it really wouldn't matter.

  Obviously he isn't involved in the family business, whatever it may be. He is also one of Christ's brothers, its going to take a lot to bring down a special, chosen man like that.

  I'm really starting to wonder how uber JWs are going to take this if it really gets some legs. I mean if its really the 'tip of the iceberg' as Zalkin puts it, we could be seeing dozens of judgements over the next decade.

  Story after story of this sick behavior is really going to chip away at their armor.

  science observes, studies and analyses the basic nature of all the components constituting the part of any experiment, follows the principle of cause and effect, and come out with equipments that would contribute to our comfort and save us lots of time and energyall of which are ultimately aimed at making life on this earth happier, longer and healthier, thus making this world a better place to live.. yet man day-by-day becomes more and more unhappy and discontented, and world is becoming bitter and bitter!

  it means: though science is right in its details, it has gone wrong in its direction.

  it failed to rightly judge and assess the true nature of its prime object (man) for whom it works.

  An unsupported platitude and a massive generalization to boot. Do you have an 'unhappy meter' on the world? A bitterness ruler?

  I'm sure millions in Africa who are getting basics like clean drinking water would have a thing to say about your false premise.

  Science isn't a religion. It isn't about providing comforts or luxuries. Its about studying reality without unprovable statements like this getting in the way:

  He is essentially a “spirit” that acts through the medium of his body. (Ecclesiastes 12:7) If we are truly objective, we can experience that everything depends on that IMMATERIAL PART that animates and sustains our bodies—once the SPIRIT departs, our bodies (including our brain which some feel as the source of our intelligence) become a terribly foul-smelling trash.

  Along with BU2B's excellent comments, I've come to the realization that the average JW has been molded into what the WT wants, individuality is removed and the group's personality is installed.

  For some, the group's personality may make them a better person - usually those with addictive personalities or jaded pasts. But for most, the group's personality is WORSE.

  Natural love and affection is tamped down, instead rigid and judgemental behavior becomes normal, even championed. There are always exceptions to the rule, those willing to allow their natural self shine in spite of the cult rules. But most simply are shells of what they truly could become outside of the cult.

  Thanks Juan. There may be a few nuggets of truth in there.

  The one I hope is true is that the dopes known as the GB are calling the shots and using the "pray to Jehovah and he will make it go away" strategy. I can only hope they are really that dumb.
