Did you get called on OFS?
I'm sure the troops were all over you after the meeting telling you what a fine comment you made!
so the wtb&t$ have either intentionally or unwittingly exposed their hand in this mornings wt indoctrination article.. this is a direct quote from par.
"regardless of how long we have been in the truth, we must tell others about jehovah's organization.
" the question is, "what obligation does psalm 48: 12-14 place on us?".

monday is a holiday.......so a super zealous brother asks me....."are you going out in service then?.
absolutely the last thing i would want to do!.
if i do go again ever, i think my presentation should be " i'm so sorry for ever bothering you with the absolute crap we're handing out.
i do - actually, it's become close to unbearable.. and herein lies the paradox: i tried to fade in the illusion that i might keep contact with family and friends still "in".
was it worth it?
because not only most of them shun me anyways, but i find it almost unbearable to be around them, especially when the cult chit chat kicks in: every cute animal video clip triggers endless comments about glimpses of the future paradise and how "god did it"; those greasy praises to the organization and the governing body; the dumb awe about every jw broadcast and those cheesy music videos; the endless drivel against other religions when one knows perfectly well that we're no better than them; the endless flow of "experiences" of field service or spectacular conversions into "the truth"; the relentless congregation gossip; and so on .... i ask myself: is this why i am fading for ...?
i don't know if gb member g jackson really meant the gb were 'god', with his 'guardians of doctrine' comment at the arc.
it's nice and conspiracy to think so, i suppose.
i honestly don't know.
tough to watch this whole video, the way he talks gets pretty annoying, especially after the rc hearings:.

go to around 8:20 where he gets into the pronunciation of jehovah.

Go to around 8:20 where he gets into the pronunciation of Jehovah. Admits that accuracy doesn't really matter, what matters is what is popular, well known or well established. (Just don't try doing that when you want to grow a beard, celebrate your birthday, or any other well known thing the bible doesn't say anything about)
Another funny point is at 10:15 where he explains the name Jehovah has a "looooooong history" you know, all the way back to about 1530.
So I will stick to my favorite pronunciation since G-Jack has approved: Jehobo
i've been posting here a lot, but these last few weeks have been very difficult for me.
anyways, lately, i've been thinking about confessing everything i've done to the elders and going back, but deep down, i don't really think it's the truth...so my question is, what convinced you it wasn't the truth and that leaving wasn't a horrible decision that everyone in the truth makes it out to be?
what convinced you it wasn't the truth and that leaving wasn't a horrible decision that everyone in the truth makes it out to be?
First off, take this sentence and ask if it is really true, the second part.
"Everyone in the truth" says it is horrible, why?
Could be a number of reasons. They fear death. They fear missing out on everlasting life. They fear that they will screw up their life outside of the cult. And finally they fear shunning.
Only one of the four is actually true, the shunning. If you mentally free yourself, and prepare to live a full life outside of the KH walls, the only real obstacle is the shunning.
Almost everything in JW world relies on "thought stopping" techniques, so any claim made is not fully examined as to whether it is true or not.
As to your original question, my investigation of past WT writings revealed that they had never once, EVEN ONCE predicted or prophesied anything at all that would show they were backed by a supernatural entity. Once I realized they had a 100% failure rate when it came to predicting the future, I felt no need to listen to another single thing they uttered.
looks like this:.

hasn't been seen for over a month.. if anybody sees this man please tell him to come back to jwn immediately and tell us wassup..
according to the newest watchtower:.
jehovah communicated with adam in the garden of eden, using human language.
god likely did so in an ancient form of hebrew.
