just wanted to break the ice and write my first post here and also talk about some things that are bothering me.

i don't go to meetings anymore and i have become inactive for years now.

i don't believe the witnesses have the truth more than any other organized religion.

There has been a bit more of a push in the last few years to force people back into the cult. There was a new brochure of the summer, a prodigal son video last year I think, and as mentioned the jw TV stuff is hitting it now. I think a lot of it is just to get the people on the inside hopeful for their "lost" relatives. Remember it sucks for them to have to shun their family, and to think that they are going to be killed by their loving, heavenly father any second now.

That being said, I think you will find peace in your life and draw a line in the sand. Make it clear you will never return to an organization that protects child molesters. Put it exactly that way and they won't know what to say, and they will shutup about it.

the more i think about it, the more i feel an extreme dislike for the apostle paul.

he was on par with hitler in his treatment of the jews before he "saw the light".

he replaced jesus teachings of love and mercy with a more legalistic, pharisaical concept of devotion to god.. any evil person can come to believe in god and worship him if the scales were literally and miraculously removed from his eyes.

I Hate the Sound of the Word Jehovah

listening to clips of the latest manipulative video from the watchtower i realised how much i detest that word - jehovah.. sometimes i have thought it would be interesting to observe a meeting or part of a convention.

every time i heard that word i would be unable to stay in my seat.. i have a visceral reaction every time i hear it.

it stands for so much that i have contempt for.

The word doesn't bother me all that much when used at the KH. Whats really annoying to me is when JWs use it in their day to day conversation like dude is real. I mean here they are talking about who they think is the ruler of the universe like he is their invisible friend who is hanging out with them. Creepy weird-ass stuff.

well i just watched this "epic" video, i would have to say this is probably the most disturbing video yet.

there campaign to get people back is just pathetic in the most mind-manipulating way.

Desperation pure and simple. They know they can't recruit anymore, all they have left are the lost souls who have wandered away and are getting shunned by their families. Pathetic.

Dumbshits still don't realize the power of the internet and how their lies have been exposed. Most who have left now know TTATT and either won't go back, or if they do its just to be able to contact family and they wont ever contribute a nickle to the pedophile protectors in New York.

The Scientologists backed down the IRS. The JWs aren't going to lose their tax exempt status here, dare I say until all religions lose that status. Find another way to fight them.

. I guarantee if all ex jw's started putting a lot of pressure in law makers and the right departments even if they can't change the shunning policy it could force WT to stop publishing those instructions of human rights violations.

This is absurd. Why in the world would you think that the government wants to be involved in religious disputes over a silly little cult. The government got their ass handed to them by scientology. They made a mess of the Koresh situation, a far more whacked out cult than the JWs.

Expecting the government to solve the JW problem is a pipe dream, get over it.
