i met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.
they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.
should they ?.
He needs to break up the social system as they grow up. By that I mean he needs to allow and encourage them to hang out with the kids from school.
I fortunately have been able to do this with my teenage girl. She is quickly seeing that the teens in the hall don't give a shit if she isn't around. I'm so hopeful she will get out fully within the next year or so.

so i finally am on windows 10. my computer kept asking me and i kept refusing, but then it went to a countdown and before i had a chance to stop it, it was updating, and i couldn't use my laptop for the full 1000 year reign of jesus christ.. when i finally could use it, i had a problem opening chrome with all my favourite apps or pages stored.
sometimes i have to open edge for for chrome to open.

the so called bunker video isn't just getting attention here but among jws as well.
i've heard a fair share of cracks, some half joking half serious about the prospect of the video playing out in real life .
but something else i've heard is that the video was meant to be figurative, an illustration representing the 'interior rooms' prophecy..
The JWs hope to hell its figurative, none of them want to go out and start spending their hard earned money and more of their time on bunker construction.
spoke with a fellow apostate from my own area.
she and i bailed out about the same time and kept in touch.. she used to do secular work with one of the local elders in his cleaning business until she got dfed.
this same elder was one of the more profound dickheads on my reinstatement committee, before i turned around two years later and daed.. business required her to contact the elder on behalf of an old client.
The KH loan "forgiveness" was a hidden tithe. I'm not sure why they are waiting on a similar resolution except under the worldwide work umbrella. They will just say literature and production costs for the videos and online content require a lot of money, and set up a per publisher recommendation for each hall. Multiply pubs times halls times months of the year and you got yourself some real tax free income rolling in.
at the assembly i noticed something new and disturbing.
when a brother is introduced before a talk the audience is now given their life history/ major accomplishments .. "brother arsehole who served at bethal for five years, pioneered in the foreign language territory for ten years, is an elder in x congregation and serves in the construction projects blah blah blah".
this puffing up never used to happen?

I think its a cult tactic. Message to the troops that if you want to get up here on stage during the big boy talks you better work your ass off for us. Screw that.
