Hope, what are your beliefs...are you a Christian? What do you believe happens to people who do not believe in God when they die?

Why are the atheists on this site so hateful?
by HopeEverLasting inall us creationists try to do is offer true evidence that the one and only god is out there watching and looking down on us.
we present that certain scientists know the truth about god and that he is everything that we see from trees, life, weather, the air we breath, and even the most simple molecules.
but of course you atheists reject it because it is your nature to not be humble and see god because you want to rule your own life.

There is science that prove God exists
by HopeEverLasting injehovahs witnesses think that just the bible is proof that god exists but they are wrong.
there is another mode for how he exists.
now we all know many scientists who are creationists now weren’t creationists until they examined the evidence for themselves.

. If I say it proves God exists then it does.
Well can't argue with logic like that....

Convicted Child Rapist Proselytizing. Is the Community Aware? Is the Community Safe?
by freemindfade inwow, this is awesome.
this really shows the jw passiveness towards child sex abusers.

I've had enough..
by raven inso last night, after thinking "wow those pesky elders have finally left me alone, maybe since i skipped out on their jc invitation back on august 1st they've given up" wrong.. i go to check the mail and there's an envelope at my front door- lo and behold, another letter from from these elders.. why won't they leave me alone already?
i'll attach a picture of the letter.. again, same letter as the first one inviting me to a judicial committee on august 15th - and signed by all three elders.. should i just continue to ignore?
quite frankly i don't give a rats arse i've been enjoying life free from the mind control of the organization, and i just wish they would drop it and let me live life.. like i mentioned before, i am moving to a new home next week, the only reason these elders have my current address ( which happens to be over 100 miles away from the cong ) is because my mother gave it to them, after i gave it to her in confidence to forward me my mail.. so lets just say she won't be getting my new address... i don't have any contact with ones from this congregation (i'm an ex pioneer, so i'm sure if they've gotten word on what i'm doing, i must be satan himself!

Here's what you could do if you really wanted to mess with them a little..
You say the letter was in your door, not mailed, right?
Go down to the police station and file a report of harassment. Advise them of the situation, that you stopped going however long ago and don't consider yourself a member. The police will at least go have a talk with each of these fellas, might be fun if they squirm a bit.
The cops could also tell you if a restraining order is possible based on this, wouldn't it be lovely to see each of them served with a restraining order?

Openly converting to another religion but not disfellowshipped
by R Franz Ferdinand III inodd.... friends of mine recently became members of an evangelical church.. up until they got baptised in this church, they still were visiting the jw meetings on a regular basis.they weren't really fading in the true sense of the word.. they came out of the closet about their new conviction quite publicly and even didn't shy away from getting in debate with the elders on biblical topics.. the elders are obviously very aware about their position and as they still were attending the meetings not so long ago, they clearly can be considered as people associated with the jw organisation.. as far as i know it seems they won't get disfellowshipped.
as long my friends don't harrass fellow witnesses with their 'renegade ideas' and 'false religion', elders seem to comply and leave things as they are.. this puzzles me as defecting to babylon the great always has been one the most worst offenses a jw could possibly commit.. could this be a case of local elders interpreting/applying things their own way or is there a (new) general policy trending ?.
anyone who knows about similar cases ?.

Slacker elders in my opinion.
I think its technically a DA when you join another church like that, not sure what the elders are waiting for in that situation.

Your congo name is still in the letter FYI.
I'd say you should just continue to ignore. Unless they stalked out your house and actually saw you get the letter, you still have deniability. That's not saying that they just won't proceed with the JC anyway, but once you make your way off the radar they may let it rest.

Copy/paste of a post on Reddit I found to be an excellent idea:
Set of links if anyone is inclined to report to the local press, I'd advise giving the first two links in your report as a concerned citizen: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pOpk1Fq0sdk

Shunned by family
by Ruth inmy fiancé is an ex-jehovah’s witness.
when he was 18 years old, his 17 year old brother was killed in an accident.
his parents having previously lost an infant daughter were understandably distraught and were therefore highly susceptible to an organisation which seemed to be able to supply definitive answers where more mainstream religion seemed to fail them..

Excellent synopsis of the situation, welcome to the board.
Unfortunately you are dealing with a full blown cult, as you probably realize. You have figured it out, you pretty much can be the go-between because you haven't dedicated yourself to the cult. Contact will always be limited and strained unless your fiance wants to play their silly game and get reinstated. Unfortunately it would probably take a few years of attending meetings and being shunned before he would be reinstated.
On the plus side, he could flip the middle finger to the whole organization if he never attended another meeting after reinstatement and his family then could talk to him.

Young JW's attitudes
by Phizzy ini met an old friend last evening, a great guy, an xjw for longer than me.. during a conversation about our experiences since fading (neither of us are da'd or anything) we got to talking about the young jw's.. his wife is still in, and he has two lovely daughters who he is trying to teach the art of critical thinking so that they can make the right choice in the future.. what worries him though is that he is convinced almost all young jw's do not give a "proverbial" if it is the truth or not, they simply wish to remain in it because of the social aspects, loads of friends and activities that they feel safe partaking in etc etc.. so how do you convince these young people that they would have a better life if they left ?.
they see it as losing all their friends, and being alone and trying to build new relationships, which is mostly true.. how do we convince them to make the leap ?.
should they ?.

He needs to break up the social system as they grow up. By that I mean he needs to allow and encourage them to hang out with the kids from school.
I fortunately have been able to do this with my teenage girl. She is quickly seeing that the teens in the hall don't give a shit if she isn't around. I'm so hopeful she will get out fully within the next year or so.
