  which i truly do respect because my girlfriend is part of but i just don't understand, i have researched so much about it.

  so much about how its discouraged for her to be with me just cause of different religion.

  Almost all ex JWs here. We all know its a cult and I can understand your frustration.

  That being said, the almost universal advice given to people who come here looking for solutions to make it work is simply give it up and find a normal girl/guy. You won't want to hear it, because you are blinded by love, but in you are in for all kinds of headaches, disappointments, and in reality, massive pain and suffering if you insist on trying to force this relationship to work.

  Much easier to break it off now and move on than later on.

  i think as we become a more enlightened society in the future we will be able to.i think laws of this nature may be in the works in some countries right now perhaps not addressing the actual mind control issue in those terms but laws to protect its subject from those that use those tactics to harm their people through fraudulent means.

  so i think the wt hope for financial survival in the information age is very slim.

  look at what spain, russia, are already doing.. but they may just go under financially from way sooner because of multple lawsuits and loss of charity status in one country after another..

  hi all, just wondering if there's anything going around about the elders receiving instruction from the society to give inactive ones and disfellowshipped ones one last chance to come back?

  i ask because i have a still in family member that i received a message from, and urging me to go back.

  the elders are apparently saying there is no time left.

  WT promotes materialism..on their terms. Do what we say and you can have it all, in the new system. New house, perfect family, boats, plenty of land if you want. All at the expense of everyone else being put to death. It promotes a lot of the sick mental conditions in JWs that we hear about.

  I do think that logical believers have provided reasonable responses to every intellectual objection to the faith.

  Just because you think they are reasonable doesn't make them logical or factual. Stop confusing the these terms and you'll start to figure out why the Xian god isn't all that special when compared to the thousands of other gods out there.

  Got my JC cancelled... (at least for now)

  so my wife and i have been in the process of fading for a few months now as per my original post here.

  about a week ago, i was browsing some ex-jw facebook groups when i saw a post that linked to the crisis of conscience book.

  i said "f@(k it" and hit share on it.. a few hours later, i get a long text letter from my mom (who was a fb friend of mine) telling me the typical "good luck finding friends in the world" and how we have "nothing in common anymore"; basically, it was a 'farewell' text.

  Stick with the original defense:

  If there is no response after a first and a second admonition, a judicial committee should be formed.

  So if they decide to go to a JC now, they aren't following directions. You stated you aren't going to cause problems. Let them know how offended you are by their insistence on breaking up your family. Hint at legal defenses.

  If they still try the JC I would personally threaten legal action individually against each member, and demand testimony from each and every witness who says they saw the post on FB.

  is everyone familiar with dr. hugh ross and his organization reasons to believe?

  i have learned much from this ministry.. hugh ross is a trained scientist and pastor who specialises in marrying the bible with science (both of which are records of truth).

  he has an msc and phd in astronomy and was a post-doctoral fellow with the california institute of technology.

  I'll take the bait and simply say its not in crisis, its how it works. It hasn't been working well for a while, and maybe its finally going to come to a head.

  This is the chance everyone has been waiting for to destroy the two party system. Everyone complains about it yet won't do anything about it. Neither party listens anymore to what their base says, they simply are power structures that are out for self survival. Look at the republicans, they have an alternative in two former repubs running on the Libertarian ticket. Yet none have broken rank and endorsed Johnson/Weld all the while they moan about Trump. All they care about is their power structure not tumbling down.

  If you're a socialist living in America, then vote Green.

  I'm voting libertarian for the first time, and at this point I can't imagine ever going back to the dems or the republicans. The only way they will ever respond is if you take your vote away and give it to the party that aligns with your thinking.
