Those aren't class actions based on belief systems, Brokeback. They are for child molestation.

The religious freedoms granted by the constitution is manly for the person not those claiming to run a religion.
Nonsense. No distinction whatsoever is made. The First amendment, for your consideration.
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Disfellowshipping anyone from any religion is the right of a religion. Forcing someone to speak to someone they choose not to speak to for religious reasons would be a VIOLATION of the 1st Amendment. And why in the hell would you want to talk to someone who is being FORCED to talk to you in the first place?
Every few months on here you come spouting off about CLASS ACTION LAWSUITS, Brokeback, without any real knowledge about the nature of what such lawsuits are intended for, (clue: not for the governmental destruction of wacky religions). Its not adding to the conversation.

Please stop with this "class action lawsuit" nonsense. Its not applicable to belief systems.
Individual lawsuits against the WT for child molestation are just and correct for negligence of the WT.
Shunning, while distasteful and unethical, is protection under the freedoms of the Constitution, and why anyone would want it any other way is beyond me.

Religion, family structure and a successful life.
by SouthCentral inthis morning (12/3/16) on fox and friends ( a news show on the fox network) there was a great news piece.
it featured one of the newscasters and her parents, who happened to be the former governor of utah (jon huntsman).
religion ( the mormon church) has obviously played a large role in their family life.

The Mormon church is a net harm on society rather than a net gain. They extort income in the form of a tithe that goes to HQ and is used however the leaders see fit.
They don't pay taxes, like all religions, thus they basically play outside the rules of that the rest of us abide by when trying to make a living.
Add to that they trick people into believing magical things happen when you die with zero proof, thus they don't live out their full potential in the limited time they have on this earth.

J W Survey Article : Upcoming Assembly Encourages J W Youth to Lie About Homosexuality
by BluesBrother in..........however, it seems that this practice [theocratic warfare] is seeping more and more into regular witness life.
in fact, one speech outline for the upcoming 2017 circuit assembly appears to directly encourage witnesses to lie to the general public about watchtower’s teachings on homosexuality............. http://jwsurvey.org/mind-control/upcoming-2017-jw-assembly-encourages-witness-youths-to-lie-about-homosexuality.
nb this is a month old.. if it has been previously posted and i missed it, sorry .

The reality is that thought the society has been homophobic for many years, it is taking steps to rectify the situation.
Really? How? Are they allowing gays to be themselves? Tight pants Tony and his rants against the supposed gay community sure aren't contributing to an environment of openness. Are they recognizing scientific evidence that many animals are homosexual?
Their current teaching is: “You can be gay, as long as you do not practice it.” This isn’t so bad considering that they also preach abstinence to all the single heterosexuals. In fact, I am willing to bet that there are more single heterosexuals out there than there are gays.
False analogy. Can you get married as a gay person in the congo? No way. Of course there are more single heteros than gays, that's how the population tilts as is.

Another Outright Lie Published 2/17 WT
by LostGeneration inthis info is from the article "who is leading god's people today" feb 17 study edition.. to help them disseminate bible truth in various languages, zion’s watch tower tract society was legally incorporated in 1884, with brother russell as president.
* he was an outstanding student of the bible, and he fearlessly exposed as false such doctrines as the trinity and the immortality of the soul.
he discerned that christ would return invisibly and that “the appointed times of the nations” would end in 1914.. pretty sickening article overall about how badass the gb is, though this little gem is printed as well, paragraph 12. the governing body is neither inspired nor infallible.

The Governing Body is neither inspired nor infallible. Therefore, it can err in doctrinal matters or in organizational direction.
I have a feeling they will really regret printing this, as every "apostate" that has an issue in the future will simply be able to print this thing out and shove it in the face of the elders.

How to Irritate JWs: The Catholic Way
by Hernandez inwhat's the greatest advantage in becoming a roman catholic after leaving the jehovah's witnesses some 17 years ago?
why, it's the way it totally irritates people and really pushes their buttons...that is, if you are one of the unfortunate jehovah's witnesses who happens across my door during field service.
i have developed several techniques to make it very frustrating to the unwary witness who hopes to make headway at my house.

So John Mann why is it not allowable to use humor when speaking about the Catholic church?
After all, if you have it right, and we have it wrong, we will all be taken care of in time. Sent to a burning place of torment forever and ever for our failure to see the righteous and just ways of the Catholic Church, correct?

He's at the top of the game. Who else is has written books, actually been in a cult, and then has the educational credentials to back it all up?
If any of us put in that kind of work and were recognized as an "expert" and were at the very top of our game, we'd charge what the market would bear and not think twice about it.
