jean-luc, check this thread for experiences on how much of a waste is spent at assemblies

" at the bottom of the image on the back of the invitation raises some eyebrows, but last night in the routine district convention article during the service meeting, i caught that one of the paragraphs mentioned that we would be encouraged to keep a copy of the tract in hand for a discussion during sunday's last talk.
my guess is, there is going to be some new revelation about what the "?
" represents, or some other fangled idea.

plus which book was the worse?.
i'd say daniel book.
boring as all shit and crap pictures.
Keep Yourself in God's Love should be re-titled Keep Yourself Under Cult Control
The current one is pretty rich. Instead of going verse by verse (which would probably lead people to question a lot of the JW tactics) they kind of jump around to convince people that JWism is just like the stuff the did in Acts. Pretty pitiful overall.
As far as worst book study book, I'd have to agree with Salty. It was so strange the last time when you are pasting in corrections into your old book. Though that book did help me in waking up, conducting a book study when you get blank looks from everyone after you ask the WT provided questions helped me to start examining things myself.

Like I mentioned on the other thread about the tract, I smell something weird here as well.
I'm not sure who is pulling the strings there in the GB meeting room, but if Teddy was really the "boss" no doubt that power vacuum is being filled by someone from GB 2.0. With that hardcore 7/15 WT and some new light at the convention a new course may be plotted.
Isn't the first DC in late May? Someone will probably leak the new releases here before the first DC so we will know what they are up to soon!

please keep us in your thoughts.. syl.
How Close to The End Are We?
I'd say the sun has about 5 billion years left-give or take a billion. Please show a little consideration to our friends who are undergoing a lot of difficulty and take your proselytizing to your own thread.

save the date?
If you really want to blow a JW mind (assuming you can get to it for a few minutes) have them do a google search on "2520 years"
All kinds of wack jobs use the 2520 year chronology to justifiy their bible prophecy. The official watchtower page on their 2520 explanation doesn't even show up until page 4 of google.
couple of things i found kind of interesting.
on the front it has the wording "qualify to live in the paradise" or something to that effect.
just another weird thing that jws teach, having to "qualify" for the paradise, based on your works of course.. the back has the image of daniel with the world powers on it, the bottom has a circle with a "?
Back of the invitation:
Why should you be interested in that dream? Because its fulfillment will have a direct impact on the lives of everyone living on this planet, including you and your loved ones.
We invite you to come and listen to an explanation of this intriguing prophecy in the talk "God's Kingdom Will Crush All Other Kingdoms - When?
I dunno, something about this has the stinky scent of "new light" to me.

MITM-sorry I do not have a scan, maybe someone can help us out
Pirata-yes I believe the first is in the "audio drama" format, then one modern and one costume drama
this is one subject that really annoyed me when i was a jehovah's witness - and i find it still annoys me after being out 7 years from the jw's.
the title of this jw only wt study article is " have regard for those who are working hard among you ".
in my opinion there always seemed to be a double standard in which rank and file publishers were always told to be patient with elders shortcomings - however if rank and file publishers slipped up - elders would be into admonishing and disciplining them like flies attracted to dung with no delay.
It seems anymore the only ones that should be perfect are the rank and file!
The GB flip flops- Oh that is just "new light" or "We never said that, you guys were speculating on your own!"
Elders mess up - "Oh just imperfect men, doing the best they can"
Joe publisher messes up "Get the hell out of here, and don't let the door hit you on the way out!"
couple of things i found kind of interesting.

The back has the image of Daniel with the world powers on it, the bottom has a circle with a "?" of course indicating the kingdom they are all waiting for. Can't remember the theme of the big talk they are promoting, but it had something to do with "God's Kingdom-When?" with wording saying something like how Daniel's dream will have an effect on everyone living. Three dramas this year as well.
Just seemed a little more doomsday-ish than the usual DC invitations.
funny how things work.
i had just posted a sarcastic question on pc's thread about last nights call with the six screens folks when the door bell rang.
it was a jw lady and she was by herself.
We know more about their doctrines than they do.
