Im sick of my life
by BlackWolf insorry but i really feel like i need to rant right now.
recently my dad was made an elder so my family has been doing a lot more "theocratic" activities lately.
every morning i wake up and put on my itchy dress and stupid makeup and heels and then pretend that i love what i'm doing and that everybody is my friend when in reality i feel horrible and all the other teenage girls at my hall hate me for some reason.

Sorry you are going thru such pain...hopefully because you are their daughter they won't shun, just don't get baptized, but you probably know that already. :)
Please don't give up on your dreams. You are smart enough already to realize it's a cult, so it's only a matter of time until you are free forever. Wishing you the best...

WT Study 1/10/16 Encouraging Child Baptism And More Nonsense
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.

They should just title the article "Parents, Set a Trap to Enslave Your Child to a Cult" -

Living as Christians at the C.L.A.M this week
by Truthexplorer inthis weeks meeting under the section - living as 'christians', starts off with 'repentance makes a difference', which is a talk given by an elder taken from w06 11/15 27-28 par 7-9. in a nut shell it discusses those who have been disfellowshipped and then show repentance.
it then goes on to discuss reinstatement and how a certain amount of time must pass by before this can take place.
it makes the following point in the paragraph.. 'a disfellowshipped person is not automatically accepted back into the congregation after a certain amount of time has passed.

The sinner must repent, pray earnestly for forgiveness, and conform to Gods righteous requirements. When requesting reinstatement, he should be able to give evidence that he has repented and is producing 'works that befit repentance'
So in theory, if time is not what matters, it could be a matter of a few days right? Oh and what about that quote "works that befit repentance". A little context, because there isn't a scripture there. Turns out its from here, applying Paul's preaching to the nations, not a believer's repentance for sins. These turds will twist the scriptures any which way to forward their agenda.
19 “Wherefore, King A·gripʹpa, I did not become disobedient to the heavenly sight,+ 20 but both to those in Damascus+ first and to those in Jerusalem,+ and over all the country of Ju·deʹa, and to the nations+ I went bringing the message thatthey should repent and turn to God by doing works that befit repentance.*+ 21 On account of these things Jews seized me in the temple and attempted to slay me.+

S.A.D. Observations from the assembly.
by Darkknight757 inso we had brother losch visiting our special assembly day which was weird in itself.
he's not a very good speaker and seemed like he was in dire need of a nap or something.. anyways just a few observations from the assembly program.
theme: imitate their faith.

$24,000 in expenses has me stunned! They are really risking waking a TON of people up with this kind of greed. Obviously they are going with a number of publishers times a dollar amount formula these days, with 2,200 in attendance there. I didn't see if you mentioned if it was an Assembly hall or a rental. If its an assembly hall they are almost armed robbers now! -

After 17 years, I went to a KH....really shocked!!
by Prometheus inafter severe pressure from my family, i have decided to attend to the nearest kh.
and a little history regarding my self: i became inactive and lost completely contact of the wt changes and "new light" 17 years ago.. everything seemed so odd and strange during the meeting.
latest technology, animated movies, watchtower web tv, a website that you can download everything, including km and wt study articles.

Take them up on the study. Tell them when you left you were told the generation of 1914 would not pass away (I know they changed that just a little before you left, but they won't do the math). Ask them to explain that teaching to you as they currently understand it.
Stare at them like they are aliens if they actually do give you the "overlapping generation" bullshit.
Walk out on them. Should be priceless!

Laugh-out-Loud BS from Insight Book
by berrygerry inhow would it be possible in 1,000 years to resurrect and educate the billions now in the grave?.
nevertheless, an illustration reveals what a simple, practical thing jehovah has in mind for mankind.
not to prophesy, but merely for the purpose of illustration, let us assume that those who compose the great crowd of righteous persons who come out of the great tribulation on this system of things alive (re 7:9, 14) number about 6,000,000 (about 1/1000 of earths present population).

Why do I have the feeling a lot of people
would be looking to off themselves if they woke up during the 1000 year reign and were forced to study with JWs??
