something came across my desk, today indicating ibsa's association with the wcc.. i can't reveal what at this moment, as this would reveal my id.. however i know that there are posters out there who will verify my credentials.. what is needed is someone willing to carry out some digging in the info about the wcc.. let's just say that the scarlot beast isn't the only one to be ridden by the society.. once this is out in the open, more can be revealed,.

any info much appreciated.

Thanks for all the replies.

Oz, it is a different matter to the UN issue, by the way London has been trying to keep it quiet from the bethelites so far without success.

Because of only a few people at London who have found out about the WCC matter, I have to be really careful.

However there is certainly a paper trail, one small piece of it, inadvertantly passed my desk.

There are records on the net, which show foul play by branch in Britain.

I know that they are trying to delete any connections or web pages that contain such info, however there will be cached copies somewhere.

What is the IBSA?

Sorry in Brit Land the bethelites call the WTBS ,International Bible Students Assoc
It has been the official name for years.
However the new official name is WTBS of Britain

Any searches are best used, using the IBSA legend, it tends to hide the obvious searches.

It is there if you know where to look

Nominal UK JW's. IMPORTANT NOTICE!

uk jw's who wish to limit the involvement of the wtb&ts in their personal lives should be aware that on tuesday 23rd october the provisions of the data protection act empower you to obtain copies of all information your local congregation is holding on you, this now includes written data as well as electronically stored information.

you may also make request to the uk branch office in mill hill.. the request needs to be made in writing to your local congregation 'data controller'.

Great Post. only applies to the Brits though.

However, all elders instructions are to pass any request to the Legal desk at IBSA.

Looking through our own Cong files, the only info held now are F.S records and a name on a Specialised Sheperding List all the really "interesting stuff " should have been destroyed last year.

I know this also applies to IBSA as well

However I'm sure that a deluge of such letters will keep them on their toes.

I do understand your confusion.

However let me make the following point.

The June 01 letter is clearly a letter regarding all files (written records) regarding child molesters and the Data Protection (these are letters of introduction and info held in Cong files.

The Dec 00 letter is a different subject altogether, it is how to handle a situation when person comes forward with an allegation or evidence of child abuse. How would we handle it? who can we inform etc?. The instructions in this letter have not changed.

Likewise when we recieve letters on how to fill out S77's and the like on disfellowshipping. those letters have nothing to do with the actual handling of the Judicial case itself.

There is a clear difference on how to handle written records, and how to handle victims of child abuse.

Thank you for your observations.

You said.

As per my previous post current WT Legal advice is still as per instructions DEC1 2000. I have personal knowledge of this within the last few weeks.

The June letter is discussing data protection a subject that we have had about 11 letters on so far.

British elders have to conform to the above D.P.A in all written reports as do all churches, business's, charities etc.

The moral obligation however has not changed. I do have this on first hand experience.

It brings me back to an appeal committee I sat on about 18 months ago

The OJ's notes on a smoking case ran to 23 A4 pages, I have never seen anything like it, as you can imagine such "detail" led us to believe that the OJ were a little anal retentive and we upheld the appeal.

Since Feb 2001, notes are not kept any more of any JC, just the SSL to fill in.

However on your comment.

None of the elders or travelling overseers saw this June Letter as a change of policy regarding informing the authorities. It was just a change in the way congregation files and forms were to be handled under the data protection.

Just out of interest even in the past few weeks my personal experience is that advice from the British Legal Desk is still in line with stated British policy from 1992.

US Legal has been aware of this from 1992, it still begs the question though...... doesn't it
