Waiting For The "Real Life"...
by JW_Rogue inhow many times did we have to hear this?
just another way to make you feel guilty for wanting to spend time improving yourself or enjoying life outside the organization.
to think of all the people that died waiting for the "real life" that is not coming is actually very sad and depressing.

To think of all the people that died waiting for the "Real Life" that is not coming is actually very sad and depressing. In our hall we had a part once were people were asked what they would like to do in paradise. Surprisingly, most people just wanted to do normal things that they could do right now! Learn to play an instrument, study nature, travel the world etc. It was unbelievable and the conductor just said "Yes, we'll be able to do all those things in the new order". -

Local Elders whip the Congregation into a frenzy about donating to the Organization
by James Jack inbecause of the may broadcast about how funds are down, our elders have been in their talks "encouraging" or pressuring everyone to donate more to the world wide work.. it freaks me out how we already give them a set amount of $600 a month, plus what is contributed by the congregation(usually $400 to $500 a month).
heck, our local congregation bank account even got below $500 for the first time this past may since i have been doing the accounts(4 years now).
for june, we raised a whopping $2400 to send into the branch.. the most amazing part, is that only a select few contribute on a regular basis every month.

This is such a depressing story I thought for sure that the May Broadcast was going shock some people into seeing the truth. Now I see though that people will believe whatever they want to believe. Truly sad. -

Do you ever feel strangely drawn towards Conspiracy Theories?
by JW_Rogue inafter mentally awakening to the idea that jws don't have the truth i strangely found myself delving into all encompassing conspiracy theories.
not that i believed them but something about them seemed quite fascinating.
i was especially drawn to the idea of a new world order/one world government.

Sometimes you read conspiracy theories and think, there could be some truth in that, but most are probably greatly exaggerated...
one thing I'm convinced of is that we don't know a fraction of what really goes on between politics and big business, and how they are controlling a lot of events, world conflicts and regime change, financial markets etcYes, some strange things are going on many of which are being ignored by the media. Even if it is just a few powerful people with these ideas it's odd that the media never calls them out on it.

After mentally awakening to the idea that JWs don't have the truth I strangely found myself delving into all encompassing conspiracy theories. Not that I believed them but something about them seemed quite fascinating. I was especially drawn to the idea of a New World Order/One World Government. This idea is espoused by many extreme right wingers and they back it up with quotes from prominent intellectuals like Bill Gates, Henry Kissinger, George Soros and Ted Turner. This theory takes in many other theories such as secret eugenics, chemtrails, consolidation of currency, agenda 21 and US martial law. Crazy? Or maybe just a way to detach from reality? -

I Don't Get It!
by John Aquila inthere are literally about thirty young single very good looking sisters in this one kingdom hall under the age of 30. that is just one kingdom hall.
in the circuit there are literally hundreds of young beautiful jw girls under 30 who are single and anxious to get married.
about two years ago, this one single good looking brother who is about 30 years old and who is an elder married this plain looking sister who is 59 years old.

Maybe the brothers aren't sure the younger sisters are spiritual enough but the older sisters have proven themselves
The older sisters probably have "proven themselves" but in other ways.
This way they get a cushy life, sex hungry wife and the ability to flirt with the young pioneer sisters all day - all approved by god.
As long as no Elders are around, I can imagine it now "Excuse me young brother don't you know only Elders get a free pass on flirting with young sisters". LOL

The young sisters want a brother who can support them while they pioneer. Many of them want to go directly from mom and dad supporting them to a husband doing the same. A real job? No thanks! -

Name "UNWRITTEN" Rules That JWs Are Supposed To Follow
by minimus inas with the scribes and pharisees, there are a number of unwritten rules that witnesses are supposed to follow.
here's a couple : "worldly" kids in society depictions are shown quite often wearing their baseball caps backwards.
jehovah's witness youths would not want to imitate that "look".

I actually don't believe most JWs are dumb or stupid. I know many well read and educated witnesses. The problem is that they don't apply their intellectual skills towards looking closely at their faith. I think many know that if they did they would never be the same so they choose to stay in ignorance on purpose. -

The young sisters are probably looking for a "perfect brother". One who is spiritual, has money to support her, is young and good looking. Also, the young sisters want to follow all the rules about chaperones and not getting too intimate (or if they don't then you can be sure that their family does). No one expects a 55 year old sister to get a chaperone. They have been around and are happy to have a good man even if he isn't the most spiritual, well off or handsome. -

Songs celebrating leaving the faith? Not being a puppet, mind controlled, living life, etc etc
by aley63 ini am looking for some songs that are in ref to celebrating leaving, seeing the light, realizing what you were told wasnt right, being happy w your life, etc etc.
all those emotions about being controlled and repressed, being told what you can feel or think or how to live, blindly following the "brotherhood ".

Nothing More - This Is The Time
When did we become these sinking stones?
When did we build this broken home?
Holding each other like ransom notes
Dropping our hearts to grip our brother's throat
You can't see because you don't know
You're caught below, beneath your own shadow
Stuck inside, half alive
Do you ever stop to ask yourself why?
Close your mind, identify
Do you feel, do you feel?
Do you call this a life?
All you waited for
Drowning just to keep score
We always start with good intentions
But lose ourselves along the way
This is the time that we let it go
These are the words that will take us home
Singing the song that's inside us all
If we don't open our eyes we're walking blind
Anchored in anger, we exile ourselves
Bitter blood builds our prison cell
Darker water now fills our lungs
The depths of our heart have blacked the sun
Naked we come, naked we leave
Fools we are, to hold tightly
We are the jail, we are the key
We are free, we are free
This is the time that we let it go
This is the pain we are forced to know
Singing the song that's inside us all
If we just open our eyesThis is alt-metal so it may not be for everyone but it hit me pretty hard when I first heard it. Very relate-able.

Will the resurrected marry/have children?
by davidmitchell ini have just finished reading 'brock talon's' two books.
in one of them, entitled journey to god's house, pub.
he comments on how the wt's pictures of the post-armageddon world do not agree with their doctrines, namely that those who are physically resurrected will not marry/have children.

They changed this because many older ones who lost their spouse to death were becoming discouraged. They didn't want to think that they would never have that relationship with their loved one again. What kind of paradise would that be?
