Why not try for "Security?" Then you can muscle any protesting apostates from the venue!
The brothers don't do security at our venue, we actually have a small group of real security guards on call (not JWs). I think this has to do with lawsuits from people who were "escorted" out of the venue by attendants.
i know i've started similar topics before but this time i'm serious.
my parents have been constantly pressuring me and after yesterday's watchtower study they asked me if i was going to be baptized this summer... and i said yes.
i probably should have thought about it more before making a final decision, but they're pretty much forcing me to do it anyway.
Thank you all for your advice. I know you mean well but its too late to go back now, I've already told them I'm going to do it. Honestly sometimes I feel like I have a split personality, jw me and whatever the real me is. I guess the Jehovah's witness in me just took over this time.
There is still time, say you went over the articles again and you really feel like you need to work on your spirituality more before you'll be ready for such a big step. It is never too late, until you actually take the plunge. In a few years you'll be happy to be out and still be able to talk to your family. Stay strong, the desire to please others can be powerful but stay true to yourself.
so why is celebrating mother's day wrong according to witnesses?.
is it not an opportunity to show respect to the giver of life (mother) and therefore god, the originator of families?.
does it not give an opportunity for members of the family to give a hard working mother a day off?

for the many years i was mentally " in " the congregation, i equated the organisation as interchangeable with the persona of jehovah, in effect whatever the organisation said or thought, that was what jehovah thought and that was what jehovah said.... it was that simple.
so when i found out the ttatt and the cynical moves of the organisation over the years,including 1975 , the donation arrangements, the united nations, etc i was devastated and thought " where's jehovah in all of this?".
the god who i'd poured my heart out to on many occasions and who i thought was silently listening and hearing my pleas ..... was not there , .

Perhaps you're right but I always thought that "fulfilled prophecy" was how they grew the religion after Russel died. That and prophesying that 1925 would bring a government ruled by ancient worthies who would be wowed by modern technology. LOL

Can you volunteer in parking?
I already have an assignment that should keep me away for awhile although I'll still be able to hear the program and see the videos. I'm an attendant, so next you're at a convention remember that the attendants could very well be awake. As somebody (not a JW) told me last year at least as attendant you get a "nice view".
I feel so alone and I just want to be accepted.
