Not a bad piece musically, it reminded me of movie soundtrack as well. However, it is not very easy to sing well so it doesn't sound too good at the KH. Plus, when it talks about a message of hope I always cringe.

i think it's absolutely beautiful.

Everything is Up for Grabs! So, who gets to decide?
by TerryWalstrom ineverything really is up for grabs.. our sense of "absolutes" is always under fire.
we are taught to invest all of our belief in the very idea of something being true and absolute and constant.but--is that illusory?.
examine how this works: jesus was tortured and murdered by hanging him on a cross.

The "Jesus is Michael" teaching soon to go?
by Island Man incould the teaching that jesus is michael the archangel, be soon to be discarded?
first of all, watchtower is big on image and this is one of those teachings that paint the jw religion as being rather kooky and heretical.
secondly, this teaching is not an original watchtower teaching but one they inherited from their second adventist ancestry.

To change this teaching they would have to examine the book of Revelation again, something that they have no real desire to do.

New Cringe Worthy Music Video From July Broadcast
by JW_Rogue inthe song is supposedly about marveling at god's creation but instead includes over the top adoration of the elders, conventions, and family worship.
lol getting a brother who sounds like a wannabe josh groban only adds to the cheesiness.

I swear, sometimes I think there might be Ttatters amongst said underlings who are deliberately cranking out this doofy-ass stuff, knowing that sooner or later, content that makes the Org look stoopid can't helpbut get greenlit ('specially if it strokes GB ego).
I have thought the same thing, some of the stuff they are putting out lately is so over the top. Even the most Uber of dubs doesn't wax on poetically about family worship night or the guidance of the Elders. And the way they make sure to put all their little slogans in there is really weird.

The fact that they have inserted so many cult phrases into the lyrics is very troubling -

Jw mummies boys
by purrpurr ini've had the misfortune to encounter quite a few mummies boys in the cult.
men aged 20-40 who although in men's bodies think, act and behave like children.
their mother's had them tied to the apron strings tightly.

I think the cult doctrines are more likely to lead to young men who think they have a right to dominate their wives and women who are disempowered.
In theory this may be true but probably more for converts then born-ins. It is more likely that a born-in will try to please everyone, the organization, the family, and the wife.

Jehovah's Witnesses and the Picnic Extinction
by TerryWalstrom injehovah’s witnesses and the picnic extinction.
(“those were the days, my friend, we thought they’d never end…”).
it was another world back then; another time and another place.. you had to have been there to have any sense of it--as a young, impressionable jehovah’s witness under the watchtower presidency of nathan h. knorr--social gatherings (backyard bbq’s, swimming parties) among the ‘friends’ consisted of having a great time at a get together or a picnic.

I think nowadays oral sex is more of a "don't ask, don't tell" type of deal. Lots of people do it, they just don't talk about it.

Where else can I go???
by UNCONDITIONAL LOVE inthose are the words of my 2nd generation born in jw mother.
my grandfather died refusing blood.
i've since come to the realization that many jws have no other opportunities or options when it comes to leaving the cult.

Todays WT, study with worldy kids if you can
by purrpurr inaccording to today's wt, jws are now encouraged to start bible studys with worldy kids even if their parents dont want to join in.
the wt suggests that the study should take place with the parent present or with another mature jw present.. the wt suggests that studying with the kid may make the parent eventually want a study too.. ...
in what situation would any worldly parent allow some stranger from a werid cult to come jnto their house and convert their children?

The wt suggests that studying with the kid may make the parent eventually want a study too.
... seriously?!! In what situation would any worldly parent allow some stranger from a werid cult to come jnto their house and convert their children? And what child would want that either? Have you ever heard of this happening? This does happen sometimes, especially with rebellious teens. The parents may think that some religious education will help straighten out their kid (even though they aren't religious). Or it could be that they are related to JWs, or were raised JW but never got baptized, or they could be inactive.
