It was an odd question because it had nothing to do with the rest of the talk. It felt like it was added to prepare people for some bad news they'll be getting later.

Well, at our circuit there wasn't any announcement but there was an odd question. The CO asked "What will your reaction be if you're asked to go to another KH? Or if your congregation is consolidated with another congregation? Will your faith be tested or will you see it as a practical arrangement and a wise use of dedicated funds?"

What happens if everyone you care about suddenly wake up?
by StarTrekAngel ini've been at this quest for a good part of two years.
i've experienced every negative feeling a human body and mind can experience.
i have, at times, become consumed.

I think it would leave a void for sure but one that would soon be filled with other things. We would probably have a lot of discussions about things we never talked much about like politics, philosophy, and science. It would definitely be interesting to find out what people really think. With more time we would be able to delve into our hobbies and dreams. We would all be our real selves for better or worse.

What a sad video, looks like what people enjoy the most is associating with friends and family. Guess what? You can do that without WT and all their nonsense.

Why A Divine Being is Possible
by looter innow we all have heard how the universe is composed of matter and space.
and we always here of how it had a beginning.
but really what could have begun it?
-
JW_Rogue
To the OP, of course it is possible. Even so what would be the chances that this divine being described himself only to ancient middle eastern men? That he sent his son to sacrifice his life for some reason? That all his perfect plans where foiled by two people eating an apple? If a God exists it is reasonable to say that it is not the God described in the Bible or any other "holy" book.

Anthony Morris III - narcissist, controlling, possibly psychopath. Knows full well it's all bullshit but loves the power.
I would add that he firmly believes it's the best way of life and that image is everything when it comes to the org. Would love to return to some sort of 1950's "leave it to beaver" utopia.
Stephen Lett - mentally ill, fantasist, liar who genuinely believes the lies he tells.
Not sure on this one, it could be that he believes that he has such a unique style of speaking that people will believe anything he says. Probably also believes rank and file don't need all the facts because it would discourage them.
Samuel Herd - deluded, likely actually believes he actually is anointed by God
I think he is mentally awake, the only reason I say that is because I saw him at an assembly once delivering a talk and his demeanor was quite strange. It was like the words were coming out but his body language was very uncomfortable. Gave me the impression that he doesn't believe any of it.
Gerrit Lösch - deluded and likely a liar who knows he's a fraud.
Knows most of it is BS but believes in the basics from the bible, the rest really isn't important to him.
Geoffrey Jackson - deluded, likely actually believes he actually is anointed by God
Just happy to be there, treats the position like a job, wants to make the org appeal to people
Mark Sanderson - liar, narcissist with an inferiority complex
Has a need to impress others and have them like him, loves to tell stories of false humility.
David Splane - deluded, likely actually believes he actually is anointed by God
Thinks he is an actual bible scholar, takes the lead on bible prophecies, he may not actually believe it but thinks he is gifted at making all the pieces fit together.

Are the Jehovah's Witnesses really false prophets, perhaps being mentally manipulated by the Watchtower Corporation ? ?
by Finkelstein inthere is a lot of public scrutiny going on these days about the jw religion particularly on the inter - net.
one of the posed questions which gets debated and discussed quite often, are the jws false prophets instigated to preach a tainted commercialized gospel under the direction of the executive leaders of the watchtower corporation ?
these focused men who are responsible for creating the core doctrines of this organization.

For well over a century this organization has been proclaiming that mankind is living in the last days of this system of things and that Christ has taken position on his heavenly throne 1874 , 1914 since these dates mankind is supposed be living in the last days of this old system of things as written in the bible.
The question that could be presented were these set doctrines really devised to enhance the proliferation of the WTS own printed works, but not necessarily backed by bible scripture or in fact going against bible scripture pertaining to false prophesying ?
I think that Russel may have been sincere in his belief in these end time prophecies. JWs weren't the first group to become fascinated by dates and Russel was influenced by other adventist groups. Of course Russel was also a businessman and invested his life savings into religious publishing. Being bold and going against the accepted theology seemed to be his selling point. I think as time has gone by the leaders have become less sincere although they still hold onto some dates like 607 and 1914. They know that these were false and mistakes but JWs have built their theology around them so they hold onto them. 1925 and 1975 were probably used to motivate growth in the org, the leaders knowing full well that there was nothing special about those dates.

The End of False Religion Is Near! HAHAHA
by tootired2care inmemories!
i remember a few years back being involved in the campaign work, and having the distinctly awkward experience of having to hand the householders this piece of sh1t tract "the end of false religion is near!"..
i recall the discomfort i had trying to get into a conversation about this nonsense.

My friend says all witnesses are desperately trying to find a bible study or just someone to listen to them. I would think they dont go door to door in this crazy heat spending their own money on the preaching work because they hate people and want to see them die. just my 2 cents.
Most are doing it out of fear, obligation and guilt. In short they have been coerced by the group into wasting time out in service. If the GB said that door to door was no longer required and that it was up to each publisher to decide how to spread the word, field service would quickly die out. Even if they just stopped requesting time slips field service hours would drastically plummet.

If you are still in the organization, do you enjoy the meetings ?
by Iamallcool inrate it from 1 to 10. thanks!

The new CLAM meeting is so boring! Everything is scripted. One thing I don't understand is that the way it is setup now there really are no opportunities for young brothers to develop their own talks. Then you have these videos that they keep showing for teenagers and kids but the rest of the hall is sitting there like "When is this over."

only christianity can turn people into the most arrogant people
by never a jw inso it is 7:30 am here in california and my dog needs to go out.
so i take her out and while i wait for her to be finished my jw neighbor is walking on the sidewalk across the street and quite unexpectedly decides to cross the street towards me.

Not true, Islam does a good job of that too I'm sure. LOL I believe that Christianity has done a really good job convincing their adherents that people who question them have some ulterior motives. With JWs it is always assumed that apostates want to go off and live a sinful life or they are too lazy for the preaching work. It could never be that they just don't believe it anymore and can't live a lie. The truth is they don't really care if you have doubts or disagree on certain things as long as you support them.
