i am still going through the questioning my faith stage as i just discovered the inconsistencies of the org.

it was 1914 that really threw me for a loop.

i have never been completely sold on the "new light" policy.

The last couple of months I have been digging up family history (yea I know, bad) It got me thinking about roots. So I guess what I am trying to figure out is the root of the date itself, When, Where and by whom. I think once I get that down I will move on to meaning and and how "they" arrived at that date. It's a beginning.

I am still going through the questioning my faith stage as I just discovered the inconsistencies of the org. It was 1914 that really threw me for a loop. I have never been completely sold on the "new light" policy. My first info on 1914 outside the org was the pyramids. I read that thats where Russell Got the date. However after further research, thats not exactly true. He manipulated the measurements to corroborate a date he had already. First it was 1874 then 1914 later on.

So my question is this: Who was the first to preach 1914 and when? Barbour? Storrs? I don't think it was Russell. And how did they arrive at the date? Was it the same way Rutherford did using Daniel?

i have played the piano my entire life and never learned another....i so wish i could play the guitar.

i would trade my piano in a minute for a good guitar and lessons.. how about you?.

i was having an affair with a pioneer at the time and a girl who was disfellowshipped was in the loo at the hall (she actually had not done aything scriptually wrong (but the elders thought she had ) i tried to smile at her as i felt i was not in a position to judge anyone as guilt was destroying me but she just looked down at the floor , 14 years later we are good friends and both "free".

when you were "in" and ignored disfellowshipped did you ever think "im not in a position to judge anyone " ?.

that old tower of babel must have been really really really tall to have caused him to panic somewhat.. the burj khalifa is nearly twice as tall as the empire state building.. what the hell must he be thinking now.

Were you a JW that "bend" the rules?

i knew a few jws (including some of my family members) who would go clubbing, concerts, play sports ,watch rated r movies and go to party's with "worldy" people.

at the same time, managed to live life in the "truth" (such as field service, give talks, hold the mic during the wt study, etc.).

were you one or knew a jw who was like that.

I uttered an explative every once and a while.

I visited "questionable" websites such as this one.

Just to name a few.

Nathan: Who is Duane Magnani? The reason I ask is any info gathered I would like to get from impartial sources. You know the drill: All info will be dismissed if it is perceived to be from a so called apostate. I visited the site, he has a lot of info there.
