  I am deeply ashamed that I didn't accept evolution until a few years ago...

  so... i live in mexico and i am helping with an esl class (english as a second language).

  actually, i am helping with two classes.

  i get two days a week in which i just stand there and have a debate with the class, encouraging as many as possible to just talk... in english.. anyways, i like talking about subjects that generate debate.

  HELP needed from folks in UK, esp. in Scotland!

  tl;dr: if you live either in scotland or in other parts of uk and you don't mind traveling, you might be able to help a fellow ex-jw by being present during a courtcase where she alone has to face more than two dozens of jws who have ruined their business.

  please contact me directly for details on when and where the court case will be held (i will know these details in few days probably).

  So much of the story is just bizarre.

  Why did she close the business? Just go advertise for new staff.

  Why end up in court? Is this a criminal trial or a civil one? What are the charges? If it's a civil case the person being accused is under no obligation to show up but the risk of losing is greater if you don't turn up and put your side. If it's a criminal court they would all be under arrest already for contempt.

  The prosecutor heard the story and couldn't really believe what she was hearing, but set a date for a case to be heard.

  There is no "prosecutor" in a civil trial. In a criminal case you don't go to the court you go to the police. They decide if a criminal offense has been committed and they liaise with the Procurator Fiscal who decides if it should go to trial. Quitting your job without notice is not an offense.

  The whole thing is just strange and I wouldn't want anything to do with it without knowing a lot more.

  Where Can One Get Answers To Questions From JWs?

  there's also a fellow who calls himself the "watchman," but he seems as critical as many of the so-called "apostates.

  " is there a place where one can ask questions from knowledgeable believers or "a" believer?

  i really don't want to take the bible lessons.

  I think it would be really interesting to see a Mormon take on a JW.

  I took on a Mormon when I was a pioneer. My bible study's sister was studying with a couple of Mormon missionaries and she set us up for a show-down at her house. I won by a knockout in the third round.

  but for the christians on here...what religion are you now that you are no longer a jw?

  i'm still undecided as to whether i believe in god.

  The universe is too beautiful and has too much order to believe that a random explosion created it.

  Perhaps it would be good to invest some time and effort investigating the evidence.

  Every living thing evolved from a common ancestor over millions of years. This fact is beyond dispute.

  I have been doing a lot of research on evolution. However, I want to delve into creationism as well to see what makes the most sense to me.

  I have been researching evolution for 10 years and I am still only scratching the surface.

  There is nothing to research in creationism. "Complexity - therefore Jesus, the end".

  Spain: A group of elder requires clarification to Ministry of Justice regarding sexual molestors

  letter sent today to the ministry of justice... .

  spain bethel sent a letter recently last oct 3 interpreting that no elder or sm should request a certificate of sexual offenses as other churches or persons in contact with kids.

  again jw.org interprets the law to their behalf.. a group of elders in madrid has sent this letter to ask clarification !!.

  This issue has huge potential to damage the organisation.

  You have to ask why the GB don't willingly cooperate with government requirements for child protection. In the UK most churches fully support DBS checks for all workers and volunteers. The Watchtower is becoming the poster-child of bad practice.

  Clearly they are afraid of how many elders and MS they would lose overnight if they instructed them to apply for a criminal records check.

  I never make personal insults. To say that you are intellectually dishonest is not a controversial observation to anybody who reads your ramblings.

  You labelled everybody who does not share your superstitions as having no ethics or morality.

  Potential Muslim convert

  about a month ago, i purchased arabic/english gospels of john that contain a commentary for muslims.. .

  i went to one of my neighbors and spoke to him and gave him one.

  fast forward to today, my brakes need done so i took my car to the shop, walking back into my street i saw my friend abdullah outside.. .

  You want somewhere that you can lock horns with a JW and try to prove that your Mormon cult is not a ridiculous as the JW cult.

  Scientology was invented because Mormons need somebody to laugh at.
