I just want to say thank you

i've been gone for a while doing other research, checking out other forums.. this forum is the first place i went when i very first started waking up and i just want to say thank you.

from the bottom of my heart thank you.. you guys were so helpful, so kind and so supportive.

you guys got me and were there for me when my whole world was crashing in on me.

firstly thanks to cofty & smiddy for the kind words on my " final post" .

this post is simply to say over two months have passed since my last post and since then i have with my wife and son seen elton john live, visited stockholm, berlin, and most importantly appreciated " the natural beauty of my neighbourhood" with out even thinking about the watchtower.

i have also attended 3 watford football matches with my son and made better relationships with my parents, discovered harvey's draught beer and made new friends in my local pub.

of publisher numbers go up its a sign jehovah must be blessing the work if they go down it a sign the end must be near .

I asked a JW elder at a literature cart in Edinburgh about the fact that so few people were becoming JWs in recent years. He said it was a sign they were so close to the end. I reminded him that we used to claim that the increase was a sign we were so close to the end.

Not true. I can prove the god of christian theism does not exist. Clearly you haven't be paying attention. Proving that your brand of mormon theism - with its batshit crazy doctrines - is false is childsplay.

But if someone believes in God, railing against them isn't going to change minds on either side.

Millions of theists have become atheists as a result of being exposed to evidence. Don't judge others by your own ideological, intransigence.

Theists believe in an god despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary. I accept evolution because of incontrovertible evidence proving that it is a fact. There is no equivalence between the two positions.

In fact, if science were to prove evolution completely and inarguably FALSE...and I mean incontestably, incontrovertibly, undeniably and unquestionably FALSE, I'd actually feel sorry for Cofty.

Why? I would be unbelievably excited to learn new things.

So who am I to take that from him?

If you have evidence that evolution is wrong please share it now. I don't want to be wrong any longer than necessary. That is the difference between a faith-based worldview and an evidence-based one.

I'm kind of dreading the Second Coming. There will be a major Kleenex shortage!

Fair comment, but when they make assertions about reality they should have the intellectual honesty to hold an honest conversation about it.

I am sure that fear is at the root of all religious faith. Fear of the future, fear of the vicissitudes of life, fear of moral ambiguity, fear of death, fear that nobody is actually in control of the big picture.

Sadly that insecurity plays out as a need to threaten others who don't share the same false certainties.

it my understanding that he's claiming that humans have lived on earth for millions of years.

it looks as though he's even showing different archaeological findings to support his claim.

he seams to be claiming that other inferior humanoids could not created some of the things found and i guess modern scientists would agree on that single piont.. its also if interest to find out that his religious beliefs maybe behind his ideas.
