my objection is to his ignorant and arrogant assersion that anyone can prove or disprove the existence of God - Loopy Loo
It is neither ignorant nor arrogant to claim that the god of christian theism - the god and father of Jesus does not exist.
That much can be proven beyond all reasonable doubt. I submit that this thread is as compelling a proof as any reasonable person should require, but there is a lot more to be said about the evidence against the existence of Jesus' god. If you want to argue about the existence of some other vague concept of a higher power then I have no interest in discussing something so ambiguous. Once you make your mind up about which god you wish to defend let me know. I suspect it is the god of Jesus but you just lack the courage of your convictions to stick to the topic, and would prefer to boast about your IQ.
I don't think I have ever engaged in, or observed, a conversation with a christian about the existence of god where the theist didn't eventually resort to a position of deism.
I was alluding to Pascal's wager
Pascal's wager is pathetic. It relies on the false premise that the non-existence of god cannot be proven and the lie that organising your life around a delusion is not too high a price to pay.
Why would a just god reward somebody for pretending to believe something? Is he impressed by hypocrisy? Why would he punish genuine incredulity?
Pascal's Wager is a call to moral and intellectual cowardice.
I apologize Crofty for my ad hominum cracks - i suspect you have a BPD and can't help yourself ... you fuckwit Cofty ... my IQ is 140 yours I suspect is no greater than your shoe size ... I try not to argue with morons ...
So you should. So far you have avoided addressing the topic.

death is not the end of the story unlesss your an atheist - Loopy Loo
That's not very logical for somebody with an IQ of 140. The spelling and grammar are also appalling - "unless you're an atheist".
Either death is the end or it isn't. What an individual believes about that has no bearing on reality.
So far there there is not a shred of evidence that death is not the final end of all conscious existence.

Christians really are no different from JWs or any other cult.
They take pride in a hypocritical display of piety, but when you challenge their cherished beliefs with reason and facts and logic that they can't refute, they respond with vitriol.
This thread is irrefutable proof that the god of christian theism, the god of Jesus, does not exist. Countless possible refutations have been dealt with and exposed as vacuous.
You claim to have a higher than average IQ but your best response is to accuse me of being mentally ill and then to follow that up with an insult unworthy of a child.
Loopy Loo I used to believe in the god of Jesus with a passion. I understand why you are lashing out. The consequences of your beliefs being a delusion have no bearing on their veracity.

250000 died everyone dies they just died sooner rather than later - Loopy Loo
I assume you just wanted to claim the prize for the dumbest and most callous response in this thread. Well too bad there are are a few attempts to excuse god that are even more facile than that.
The more christian theists talk the more they expose how ugly their beliefs really are.
Exposed without mercy That says a lot about your nature Crofty I for one would not want nor value your respect i suspect you have a BPD and can't help yourself
I have not got a clue what you just said.
The challenge of this thread remains unanswered but thanks for playing.

OK who threw the stink bomb in here?
by Thisismein1972 income on a believer, everyone knows it was you so own up to it and teacher will not be cross!.
this is exactly what seems to be happening, a believer runs in drops the stink bomb and runs out again...only to pear around the door when he/she deems it safe to do so.
😅😅😅.

The JW makes the most sense to me because of my understanding of the Bible.
Like many ex-JWs you have put your most cherished beliefs off-limits. I made the same mistake and it took me 9 years to get around to examining the evidence regarding the bible.
The important question is not about which religion is true. The real question is far more fundamental than that.

A most interesting Christmas present
by JeffT inso our daughter gave my wife and i a very nice family album of photos from the course of the year.
as we opened it, she said it had a surprise hidden in it, so we're watching for something to fall out.
about 2/3 or the way through it we hit an ultrasound print of a tiny baby.

Is it morally wrong to put Watchtower behind?
by Darkknight757 inwith our latest and final run in with the elders, the wife and i had a very long talk about what's next in our life.
do we try to help others see the light as it were concerning watchtower or do we just let it go and move on with our life?
we have made it perfectly clear that we will never go back to watchtower and we are finally happy.

one guy said that our baby loss was because "God knew we couldn't handle having a baby with Armageddon so close."
You don't need that kind of crass stupidity in your life.
