  Unwritten Theory

  have any of you heard some theories from jws that are not based on scripture?

  i have, in the past few days, heard a couple that have me shaking my head.. first one is that since satan was around during the creation period and probably watched on as things were being made, it is possible that he is responsible for the creation of some of the more hideous and nasty creatures that live among us.

  surely god wouldn't make horrible things.. second one is that satan already had a bad attitude before the creation of adam and eve and was collecting followers among the other angels early on and stirring trouble.

  Excellent work, thanks for sharing. I think your professional approach is exemplary, activists I have seen in other countries could learn a lot from this.

  Can I please make one minor criticism? One of my pet hates is the way JWs involve their children in public proselytising. I would suggest that ex-JW activists avoid doing the same thing even if it is something that the children enjoy.

  Really encouraging to see how well the Polish public react to your work. Keep it up.

  You were broadcasting specific, unsubstantiated and extremely serious accusations of child abuse against a named individual on a forum with a large readership. In law that is called libel.

  The UK is the world capital of libel lawsuits. You are either malicious or stupid.

  while making bread this morning and between answering the door and phone calls, i listened on steam radio to the programme in our time with melvyn bragg.

  his panel of experts explained how the discovery of thousands of bird fossils has revolutionised our perception of avian evolution.

  i recall watchtower literature smugly presenting darwin’s admissions in his origin of the species that the geological evidence for bird evolution is “imperfect” in fact missing.

  When it comes to transitional fossils there really is an embarrassment of riches. I was listening to an interview with Donald Prothero who wrote "Evolution - What the Fossils Say and why it Matters" in 2007. He was going to write a new edition but there are so many important discoveries to be described he has written a whole new book.

  It's been a GREAT week for me!

  i put my story out there in 9 parts, and i've had lots of great experiences so far and met lots of nice people and i've made new internet friends, even some in person.

  Muslims are raised in constant and graphic fear of hellfire. When a sinner's flesh is all burned away she/he will be given new flesh so the agony can continue for eternity.

  Heaven or hell is decided after death based on the balance of good and bad deeds.

  Muslims who fear that their balance sheet is in deficit can get a "go straight to heaven, do not pass go" card through martyrdom. Young men who have not lived good Islamic lives are especially vulnerable to this sort of delusion.

  Apologists who claim that a violent Islamist was "not a real Muslim" because they were known to drink and smoke don't understand this deadly arithmetic.

  Pale.Emperor Meets A Born Again Christian

  of all the religions out there one religion that's always filled me with exasperation was the born again christian belief system.

  to make matters worse, the street preachers i see and hear here in liverpool always tend to be crack pot, loud mouths, attention seeking and just plain annoying.. this idea that "im going to heaven, you're going to hell" is enough to make me not want to worship their god even if he did exist.

  but today i met two.

  You handled that really well. The guy with the big mouth should be careful. If somebody complains about his anti-gay rants he could be charged with a hate crime. Free speech no longer exists in Europe.
