Interesting right up to the second last paragraph when you turned from rational commentator into superstitious nutter.

Differences between UK and US Corona Virus TV Updates
by ThomasCovenant ini'm in the uk, and most days over the last 2 weeks i've watched the 5pm uk government update on the corona virus situation which includes questions from the media.
generally speaking i've found the whole update, including the questions and answers, to be respectful, informative and non combative, with, to the best of my recollection, very little mention of politics and blame.
certainly no political point scoring.

Phizzy anybody could refute or provide important context to everyone of those points, but if you think that is not totally dishonest meme there is no point.
The UK response has been as good as it gets under the circumstances.

SK has ben in the business of testing and tracing for many years. Everybody else was starting from square one. Germany has the science labs with Roche. Like every other country we are playing catch up. We will copy them as far and as fast as resources become available. Our death rates will no doubt be comparable to many other similar countries.
Stop being so bloody hysterical.

Why are you cherry-picking?
Best case scenario with massive shut down of the economy and draconian limitations on personal freedom, deaths from covid-19 might, if we are really lucky, be similar to a bad flu epidemic with zero interventions.
In other words there is no comparison between the impact of the flu and the impact of covid-19.
I can't imagine what the toll is going to be when it sweeps through Africa.

Covid-19 (Coronavirus) - Status Update Thread
by Simon inthis topic is to focus on status updates & advice (no opinion or politics please).. status.
latest status is that it's serious, probably isn't going to be contained and most large companies are making contingency plans, cancelling large events etc... which i don't think would happen if it was just people being alarmist.
the incubation period means it may have already spread further and infected many more people than are currently known, so expect jumps in the numbers over the coming days and weeks.. tracking.

South Korea has had testing and tracking in place for years. Every other country is way behind. Testing will be part of helping gather data that will allow decisions to be made to relax the rules but it will take time to ramp up testing.
Nobody is 'advocating' herd immunity it is just a fact that without a vaccine we will end up in a position where herd immunity is a reality. You are behaving as if the British government proposed doing nothing except letting herd immunity deal with it.
Vaccines are over a year away and treatment options at the moment are not promising. The UK policy of social distancing to flatten the curve, massive boosting of NHS resources, supporting business and workers and shielding the vulnerable is as good as it gets. Give a bit of credit where it is due.

Covid 19 CENSORSHIP
by The Fall Guy inif anyone voices an opinion with which i disagree or even detest, i can either debate it or walk away.. the last thing i want is for someone to be silenced by threats.
however, it appears that some opinions on social media etc.
which contradict the official narrative are being muted.

IMO the cult should be legally free to teach that God hates blood.
However young people should be forced to have transfusions if there is a medical emergency, and the cult should not enjoy financial benefits.
We should all be free speech fundamentalists. The best defence against bad ideas and lies is exposure to better ideas and truth.
