  Don't worry too much about offending others by questioning religious dogma. Facts don't require our consent.

  Humans evolved from non-human ancestors over millions of years. We are evolved apes not fallen humans. This much is a fact as certain as anything that science has established to be true. Religion - if it wants to be taken seriously by intelligent people - needs to respect reality. The vast majority of religions have found ways to accommodate evolution. It is mostly Muslims, fundy xtians, JWs and many ex-JWs who still struggle with it,.

  now today this is of course a non-issue.

  the wt has embraced the big bang/old earth etc just not evolution.

  in fact the creator book has some decent info.. however i have a good copy of the 1958 paradise book.

  They have painted themselves into a corner with their legalistic interpretation of the ransom doctrine - no Adam = no ransom. So they are stuck defending the indefensible.

  We did not 'fall' from perfection we evolved from apes.

  If every poster put as much effort, knowledge and thought into their posts as Blondie did this forum would be amazing. If she has decided to move on without any goodbyes or fanfares then fair play to her. I really hope she is okay. If anybody has contact with her in real life it would be great to know.

  Thoughts on Sunning and blood Doctrines.

  i have a couple of thoughts on the blood and shunning doctrines, both of which have been covered well before.

  here, and on j.w facts.com and elsewhere.. but i would like to point out the following, the only scriptures they can use in reality for their blood doctrine are the verses from acts chapter 15. o.t verse are really out of the question, and dishonest to use on their part, as they do not follow most of the injunctions in there!.

  the context of acts 15 is a council of the apostles and others in the jerusalem congregation, to decide what they should ask of gentile christians in the way of behaviours and practices etc, as jewish christians were demanding they comply with the mosaic law, or were, at the very least offended if they did not.

  Acts 15 settled the question of how gentile and Jewish christians could enjoy unity and fellowship by requiring only the 'necessary things' that were required of temporary residents in Israel in the OT period.

  These can be summed up as idolatry, fornication and blood.

  A foreigner might cause outrage in Israel by using his portable idols, engaging in forbidden sexual practices - including marriages that were forbidden - and by eating unbled food. Other matters such as theft and murder were not mentioned since they were proscribed by Jew and gentile alike. As long as gentile christians observed these necessary things there need be no barrier to fellowship.

  The law on blood was more significant than a dietary restriction. Blood was a symbol of a life that had been taken by another human. If an animal was found already dead it could be eaten unbled with impunity. Since no life is taken to donate blood it has no sacred value.

  so he comes out of the movement and says this has become much less about environmentalism and more about trying to turn the world to marxism.

  we have seen this in the blm, antifa and other so called movements that are a thin mask for the real goal.

  and we know marxism has killed more people then the plague.

  It would be interesting to read the entire court judgement but I suppose they won't be in English.

  So HQ want to make local elders responsible for dealing with child abuse but demand that they have control of how elders handle it. Elders are left with responsibility without authority.

  Any wise elder should walk away now.
