Waton - I think that is an important point that is easily missed. Whatever we might think about any wisdom attributed to Jesus of the gospels he never actually said a single word that could not have been known by anybody living in his time and place.

It is a scientific fact that the universe is 13.4 billions years old and that life arose on earth around 3.5 billion years ago. Humans have been around for at least 200,000 years.
These are not things we can sensibly have our own opinion about; they are certain facts. You need to start working on a theology that takes account of reality.

New York City...OMG What Is Happening??
by minimus inlook at the new york post online today and watch the videos of mayhem and destruction to the city with fires all over manhattan.
the police vehicles are being destroyed and torched and the rioting just goes on and on.. i regularly went to nyc sometimes once a month for years.
now, who on earth would want to go to this hellhole??.

Less policing = more crime which leads to businesses leaving the area which leads to more deprivation and even more crime. The way to break to spiral is lots more policing. The police have to be the biggest, strongest gang in the neighbourhood with the best resources, the full support of politicians and a zero-tolerance attitude.
Of course Andrew Cuomo and Bill de Blasio think the exact opposite and therefore NY is doomed to a generation of decline.

That' a very good point Steph.
The gospel writers whose works were later attributed to Matthew and Luke did seem to believe in a literal genealogy from Adam to Jesus.
The Watchtower have tied themselves to a literal creation account through their legalistic ransom doctrine. There is no way out for them that I can see.

Don't worry too much about offending others by questioning religious dogma. Facts don't require our consent.
Humans evolved from non-human ancestors over millions of years. We are evolved apes not fallen humans. This much is a fact as certain as anything that science has established to be true. Religion - if it wants to be taken seriously by intelligent people - needs to respect reality. The vast majority of religions have found ways to accommodate evolution. It is mostly Muslims, fundy xtians, JWs and many ex-JWs who still struggle with it,.

We did not 'fall' from perfection we evolved from apes.

Thoughts on Sunning and blood Doctrines.

here, and on j.w facts.com and elsewhere.. but i would like to point out the following, the only scriptures they can use in reality for their blood doctrine are the verses from acts chapter 15. o.t verse are really out of the question, and dishonest to use on their part, as they do not follow most of the injunctions in there!.
the context of acts 15 is a council of the apostles and others in the jerusalem congregation, to decide what they should ask of gentile christians in the way of behaviours and practices etc, as jewish christians were demanding they comply with the mosaic law, or were, at the very least offended if they did not.

Acts 15 settled the question of how gentile and Jewish christians could enjoy unity and fellowship by requiring only the 'necessary things' that were required of temporary residents in Israel in the OT period.
These can be summed up as idolatry, fornication and blood.
A foreigner might cause outrage in Israel by using his portable idols, engaging in forbidden sexual practices - including marriages that were forbidden - and by eating unbled food. Other matters such as theft and murder were not mentioned since they were proscribed by Jew and gentile alike. As long as gentile christians observed these necessary things there need be no barrier to fellowship.
The law on blood was more significant than a dietary restriction. Blood was a symbol of a life that had been taken by another human. If an animal was found already dead it could be eaten unbled with impunity. Since no life is taken to donate blood it has no sacred value.

we have seen this in the blm, antifa and other so called movements that are a thin mask for the real goal.
