They are absolutely clueless. The good news is that their lack of self-awareness is going to carry on costing them millions in endless lawsuits.

Dutch JW publish open letter protesting accusations of mishandling child abuse and government inquiry
by Anders Andersen intoday watchtower netherlands published an open letter in a national newspaper, lamenting the accusations about them not handling child abuse issues very well.. they protest a scientific report made by utrecht university (by request of the government).. they protest almost everything our minister of justice has said about them.. they place themselves in the role of victims of unfair treatment, discrimination.. they point their finger a other religions (foremost the catholic church) because they are much worse.. they refer to jw being persecuted in wwii, as if that were relevant to the issue at hand.. all in all, they (probably) spent about 25k to 30k euro to publish their bullshit in a national newspaper.. not a single trace of any self-awareness, let alone even a hint of an apology.
quite the contrary.. they suck.. the minister of justice tweeted "this is exactly the problem: they spend money on lawsuits and expensive ads instead of improving help for victims #fail".. see the translation of the jw letter here: https://www.reddit.com/r/exjw/comments/ilair1/open_dutch_letter_a_little_better_english.

Disfellowshipped for NOT activating my camera on ZOOM meeting
by Aleph inhey so i won't go too much into the details though there would be so much more to say....in a nutshell, you are repentant but not enough so we disfellowship you ....i asked, can you clarified this "not enough repentant" please ?as one of the reason of not being repentant : " you didn't put on your camera during zoom meetings !!!
" they yelled at me, like a bunch of wolves against a sheep....so :.
- no scriptural basis.- abuse of power.- my phone can't handle to have its camera on more than 20 minutes.then they yelled " jehovah does want you in the congregation" !like you are not welcome here....strangely to me, isaiah 1:18 and the story of the prodigal son tells a complete different story....well the whole bible is about love forgiveness and repentance !!

Aleph - Are you sure you were DFd for not having your camera on or were you DFd for something else and they used the camera as an example of attitude?

I'm not into conspiracy theories, but Google FEMA clergy response team. Would WT. throw the R&F under the bus to save it's own skin
by nowwhat? incorrect me if i'm wrong but about the same time this was activated was when the wt.
came out with the "we may receive instructions that may not seem practical from a human standpoint".
and it has been emphasized greatly regarding covid measures that "we must obey the superior authorities".

Pete I get vienne's frustration.
The idea that Russell was influenced by Masonic rituals has been debunked so many times and so thoroughly by thoughtful posters it is astonishing that the myth won't die. I guess people prefer a mystery to facts they ought to have known but didn't.Even what vienne and her late mum have posted in this forum has shown how poor most exJWs knowledge is of the origins of the religion. Most seem happy that way.

vienne - Is it fair to say that Miller was one of many Millenarians of that time and that he had an influence on Russell? Who would it be accurate to identify as the source of the Millenarian movement?
I'm putting those books on my xmas list.

How do JWs view the Ransom?
by Vanderhoven7 inlooking for a simple explanation of the ransom from a jws perspective..

Vander - JWs don't see themsleves as culpable sinners as other xtians do. The imagine their only real problem is 'inherited sin' which was all Adam's fault.
Jesus' death buys back the value of that first perfect life and by proxy all of Adam's offspring. (Don't go down the rabbit hole of who paid what to whom, it leads nowhere) This wipes the slate clean up to the moment of baptism. All previous sin can be neatly filed under 'imperfection'. But from the moment of baptism JWs must now prove themselves worthy of salvation through good works - specifically through loyalty to the organisation.
They see no distinction as regards the ransom in relation to anointed or otherwise apart from the weird idea that anointed are declared righteous, whereas the other sheep are declared 'relatively righteous' - a bit like being a little bit pregnant. (I'm not making this up)
Russell taught that Jesus' death bought back the life of Adam who would be resurrected. Everybody else was unborn in Adam's 'loins' when he sinned so we were redeemed also - I think Russell was a preformationist. Rutherford cancelled that declaring Adam beyond the pale and changed it so that it was not Adam that was redeemed but the value of Adam's perfect life.

Does Anybody Here Sympathize With The Looters That Cause Destruction?
by minimus ini realize some here are diehard democrats.
whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?
i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..
