Are the J.W's reaching a "Tipping point"?
by karter ini haven't been to a meeting in 15 years but my mother and sister are hard as j.w's.
the brothers they are appointing elders are at best suspect like one guy from my old hall made elder, big time drug used before becoming a j.w his talks are all over the place and would have struggled to make m,s years ago but with at least 60 to 70 % of young ones leaving the pool to pick from is at best reduced.. 2 other recent elders both young and zero life experience both on benefits one not well at all falls asleep all the time.. the decent, kind elders mostly older and are decent people with alot of life experience are burning out fast as there are so few of them left like 3 per congro of 100 publishers.. then you have the rich elders who wouldn't ever think of inviting some poor older or mis-fit person out to the expensive placers they go to as they couldn't afford to go so they are above the r&f and the r&f get pissed off with them.
then we have the ones who have "put the kingdom 1st" who are now old worn out and barely getting by from welfare cheque to welfare cheque that are saying "the system should have been over many years ago" it's still here and they are struggling everyday.. then there are the pioneers who have a low payed reduced hour job that seem to think anyone who has anything is totally materialistic and looks down on anyone getting a new car buying a house ect.. along with the child abuse issues, the generation change, access to information the the g.b don't want anyone to know ,not to mention the issues around blood.. is there a tipping point coming????

God answers JW prayers about trivialities while ignoring the abuse of little children
by jambon1 ini've heard many experiences about how jehovah answers the prayers of jw's - convention items about pioneers gas bills, car repairs, job opportunities.
now, if this is true, you are actually stating that god has directly intervened in your life.
taken action on your behalf.

Every time a believer thanks god for their food they convict him of murdering millions of innocents elsewhere.
Either god is immanent and therefore abusive, or he is not immanent in which case he is neglectful. Theism fails because it is internally contradictory.
The god of christian theism - the god and father of Jesus - does not exist. This much is proven beyond all reasonable doubt.

Round and round the not so marigoround
by Coded Logic ini find most theist arguments to be either confused or dishonest at best.
and most of them i regard with mild annoyance.
but there is one track of thinking that is so stupid it really gets under my skin: when, in order to try and prop up "faith", people try and tear down reason and critical thinking.

SBF = "It's a mystery" bullshit excuse.
I agree that definite claims about God, his existence or nature are also presumptuous.
"God is love" is the only claim we need to take as authentic to prove beyond all reasonable doubt that god does not exist.

I feel like I'm losing my religion/faith
by christina1111 ini'm a baptized jw...been baptized for 8 years...and throughout the years i've been baptized i see "hypocrisy" so to speak in the religion...when you're new and not baptized that's when the jws want to invite you to every gathering they have, they want to appear like they're your best friend...they want to help you out when needed and so forth...however, once you're baptized you go to the elders for help they don't help you....all they do is gather you around the office...have bibles in hand and so forth...they give you articles as well, instead of physically helping you out....but yet when you weren't baptized they would physically help you out and not throw scriptures and articles in your face.
also when you ask for help and so forth with the bros/sisters they want to throw the "each one must carry his/her own load" scripture at you.....but yet what happened to the scripture of taking care of widows and people who are orphans?.
it's not just one congregation...throughout the 8 years i've been baptized i've been through many kingdom halls...many towns...many states...when i was inactive for awhile i even pretended to not be baptized and just play dumb when the witnesses came to my door...they're much nicer to you when you're not baptized then when you are baptized...why is that?.

Keep your faith/ relationship with God and His Son
Why?
Better to pursue a life based on evidence. Faith is not a valid basis for determining what is true. Losing your faith is a disconcerting process but I have never regretted it.

Cooked food and the evolution of man.
by Crazyguy ini was watching a documentary on the development of man and they were indicating that the eating of high protein diet was helping man to grow a bigger brain and then went on to say that cooking the food was the breakthrough on how our brain became bigger then other animals that ate a lot of protein.
does this make any sense to you and what science if any shows cooked protein is better in any way over raw?
your thoughts..

you often hear the exact opposite and that cooking food kills off many of the good qualities of the food?
The subject of nutrition attracts more pseudoscience than most topics. Some raw veg might lose some micronutrients if they are overcooked but your OP refers to macronutrients. The discovery of cooking was a huge step forward. I wonder if somebody dropped a lump of meat in the fire by accident?

I was in North Shields yesterday. There is a little grocers on the quayside that has been supplying the fishermen for over a century. They cure their bacon in the backshop. I had a huge roll with 3 slices of thick bacon, no butter, tomato sauce. I'm only just starting to get hungry again now!

The digestive system absorbs far more nutrients from cooked meat and veg than from raw.
Cooking was like free calories!
For example it used to be fashionable for bodybuilders to eat raw eggs. It is now known that your body can only absorb 50% of the available protein in raw egg. Cooking it boosts that to 98%

Does Paul preach a fundamentally different religion than Jesus?
by Yesu Kristo Bwana Wangu incontroversy has arisen regarding jesus versus paul as scholars debate the different emphases and messages of jesus and paul.1 jesus preached the kingdom of heaven.
paul did not.
paul preached justification by faith alone.

I disagree that Jesus was lax about the sabbath. He kept the Law meticulously but refused to bow a legalistic application of it.
Christians can't have it both ways. Either Jesus is one with father in which case he approves of slavery and infanticide, or he is not one with the father and he is not the christ.
