BTW, Maputo. I forgot to ask you about your literal interpretation of Sacrifices.

So why dies God need sacrifices if evolution is true? Why the need for Jesus sacrifice?

Soren had an unusual background, didn't he? the fact that he was so religious and in his twenties believed God had cursed his own family because of his father's blasphemy. The shroud of guilt and religious zeal because of this cast a shadow over his formative years. Then consider his black and white views when Renee showed him the door and broke off the engagement - his conclusion was marriage was not going to allow him the freedom to be a prolific writer anyway.

So it's hard for me to give him too much credibility as he was so jaded. Granted he did think a great deal and for that I give him credit. But to turn around and say that because there are gaps in logic then one has to have faith and then use this as a reason to have faith is pretty pointless to me personally.

Existentialists such as Sartre and Nietzsche cottoned onto Kierkegaard's thinking and also pretty much concluded that there are limits to logic and personal choice. The problem is that when you look at it this way then you can justify anything you can dream up.

I guess personally I look at it all this way: I understand and accept the general principles of evolution. However, I do not study it deeply. No. Why? Honestly, it boils down to this question for me every time: So if I accept XXXX as being true then what is the likely outcome (specifically - what is the downside and what is the upside)? In every case if I am asking a question about Faith then the answer will always have to feed on itself and keep creating a framework. Then I have always turned around and said to myself: "OK...but since the framework is all based on an initial leap of faith then its probably all bullshit so I'm not going to waste my time on it". On the other hand if it is not based on faith I generally end up at the principle that "I don't care enough to spend my time, energy and resources finding out more anyway because ultimately I'm a pretty good persona anyway and I enjoy life every day and I accept the probability that there is only one shot at enjoying life any way. Living for some future unknown is crap. It is draining and self defeating. I just want to do my own thing and have freedom to do so. That "thing' generally does not have any room for the concept of a "god" or a religion or a faith.

If I was to accept and religious creed it would probably be Zen and I would focus on the philosophy of centeredness to ensure I have the right focus on the present while not doing any silly stuff to screw up the future.

Make any sense?

Maputo, I'm not sure I understand your post. Let's keep it simple.

Animal sacrifices in the Bible - symbolic or literal?

Jesus as a Ransom sacrifice - Symbolic or literal?

How would you allow the concept of sacrifices as presented in the Bible to coexist with the proposal that God created man through evolution?

BTW sorry if this offends you: using words like "exegesis" and quoting Jung or Kierkegaard don't impress me. When one has to resort to making ideas complex then the ideas are normally not thought out or valid. The Bible (which I think is pure shit because it is so flawed (find a million fancy words for "shit")) is supposedly written for the benefit of the common man in order to build faith in God.

SO let's assume that God did use evolution to "create" man.

Then we need to ask:

So was there truly such a notion as Adamic Sin? If not then there was no need for the Ransom Sacrifice. Oops - big problems there. If Adamic Sin is true then how did evolution result in perfection? The singularity of the assumption flies in the face of evolutionary process.

Bottom line: Jehovah's Witnesses can never accept evolution. It presents far too many issues when you consider the impact and inconsistencies with the rest of the JW doctrines.

effective april 16, walgreens drugstores across the state won't take any new medicaid patients, saying that filling their prescriptions is a money-losing proposition the latest development in an ongoing dispute over medicaid reimbursement.. the company, which operates 121 stores in the state, will continue filling medicaid prescriptions for current patients.. in a news release, walgreens said its decision to not take new medicaid patients stemmed from a "continued reduction in reimbursement" under the state's medicaid program, which reimburses it at less than the break-even point for 95 percent of brand-name medications dispensed to medicaid patents.. walgreens follows bartell drugs, which stopped taking new medicaid patients last month at all 57 of its stores in washington, though it still fills medicaid prescriptions for existing customers at all but 15 of those stores.. doug porter, the state's director of medicaid, said medicaid recipients should be able to readily find another pharmacy because "we have many more pharmacy providers in our network than we need" for the state's 1 million medicaid clients.. he said those who can't can contact the state's medical assistance customer service center at 1-800-562-3022 for help in locating one.. along with walgreens and bartell, the ritzville drug company in adams county announced in november that it would stop participating in medicaid.. fred meyer and safeway said their pharmacies would continue to serve existing medicaid patients and to take new ones, though both expressed concern that the reimbursement rate is too low for pharmacies to make a profit.. the amount private insurers and medicaid pay pharmacies for prescriptions isn't the actual cost of those drugs but rather is based on what's called the drug's estimated average wholesale price.

but that figure is more like the sticker price on a car than its actual wholesale cost.. washington was reimbursing pharmacies 86 percent of a drug's average wholesale price until july, when it began paying them just 84 percent.
