I find it ironic the JWN Elders chastised this guy for saying "fag." What's next, a judicial committee? It's 2011, we gotta stop being afraid of words.

help appreciated...any success or failures at truly conscious efforts to make new friends after a life in jwland? As a very social person i still only seem to have ex-dubs as my new friends...
by oompa inas a jw...at least if you were social...you could walk into about any hall and find other social jw's you could become friends with...yes they are conditional...perhaps more so than other friends, but i did have some great friends there and i still miss them.
since my wake up....then departure....now df status....i realize that i have had only seven or so real friends and five were found here..... five are fairly local, one is far away, and one is an old high school friend i have reconnected with (lives a thousand miles away).....and i have met some nice people through these friends but they are more aquaintances than close friends.
the bar scene did not really get me anywhere with guys or girls...and i tried meetup.com but as of yet have not connected with anyone....so what worked for you?

I had a serious drinking problem after leaving the Borg. I was drunk and friendless. I joined AA, made tons of true friends, and got sober. That was years ago, and those folks are still my close friends.
In addition AA. I have good friends that I've met at the gym, work, playing sports, team supporters groups, and playing music. I have great friends, male and female. They won't come to you, you gotta get out and start living your life. It's a numbers game. The more you're out and getting involved in things you love (on a regular basis) the more people you meet.
Sorry Jesus, but being "part of the world" is normal and really rewarding.

Awesome! Good riddance! I would love to think that old nazi's death could start the end of the Borg. But this is a r esilient cult. Some other jackass will take over and it's business as usual.

New Generation -- NO Thinking Allowed!
by UnDisfellowshipped inthe new, new, new, new light on the generation: just believe it -- or else!.
the watchtower, august 1st, 2001 issue, page 14, paragraph 8:.
"first, since oneness is to be observed, a mature christian must be in unity and full harmony with fellow believers as far as faith and knowledge are concerned.

Here's some independent thinking on the bible: It's totally made up, just like everything written in the watchtower. It's all written to enslave people. And I'm a free man.

I can't wait for the WC to begin! Although I'm Italian American, I'll probably be cheering for England in the USA/England match. I'm normally all about Italy, but they won last time. And England is due.

The Watchtower hates the word, "You"
by moshe indozy brought up a good point a few months back about how the wt uses third party terminology to obscure their real motives.
i thought it was a good idea to revisit this wt writing technique.. (http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/184897).
look at the nov 15th 2009 wt, "treasure your place in the congregation" and compare what happens when we replace the third party terminology (words in bold type) with first party words.

Thanks for this post! This is brilliant!
When I was a teenager, my DA'd father said he couldn't stand being in the JW's b/c they tried to tell him how to live. Even in the smallest, insignificant things. I remember thinking that he was nit picking and the "brothers" had his best interests at heart. And that nobody tells us what to do. (i'm laughing at myself as i type this)
Today, I know that my dad was right! This post shows how this "we" stuff is subliminal. A subliminal facade of equality. It's really mind control. The WT is a modern masterpiece of propaganda and mind control.
