Lambsbottom – You asked, “Can you direct me towards information Revelation 19 being figurative? It speaks of the birds gorging themselves on the flesh…”

A great problem with Revelation interpretation is that so many supposed experts interpret passages LITERALLY, for example as in Revelation 19:17-18 where the birds of heaven devour flesh. We know the four beasts of Daniel are symbolic of four world empires, right? Daniel 7:23 says that “"The fourth beast will be a fourth kingdom on the earth… and will devour the whole earth…” We don’t believe that a literal beast will devour the whole earth do we? So why do people have a problem recognizing that the birds are symbolic? (I believe of the Christian people who will finally turn on Babylon system when the truth is corrupt system is revealed.) You can find more on the FJW website, in the right column under “Books-electronic.” There are two revelation books there. In the first book, “Revelation explained” start with page 237. In the second book, “Revelation Research Foundation,” start at the bottom of page 474. Hope this helps.

No Punkofnice – I believe you will be resurrected on earth with the opportunity for perfect human life. The following scriptures support the view that unbelievers will have a future opportunity after they are awakened from the dead.

1 John 2:2 – “He is an atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world. – Weymouth

1 Tim 4:10 – God…is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe. NKJV

Rev 22:17 – “the bride say, “Come!”… Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely. NKJV [An invitation to unbelieving mankind on Paradise Earth.]

Rom 8:19,21 – “the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God… also will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God NKJV

1 Peter 2:12 – “Gentiles… they may, by your good works… glorify God in the day of visitation.” NKJV

Now, Punkofnice, once you are resurrected from the dead and enjoying the blessings of the earthly kingdom, will that be sufficient evidence to prove to you that the God of the Bible exists and is in charge? If so, I think your would be heading the the right directions to progress on to the opportunity of everlasting life.

Punkofnice, many that don't believe in God have every right not to if they judge from what a band of people called organized religion says.

Jesus is a ranson for ALL. Everyone sinning does so because of Adam and Adam's sin is ransomed. ALL who dies die in Adam, all that dies Adamic sin gets resurrected because they are ransomed not because they paid for their sins as noone can ransom themselves. Being an atheist is to me not as bad as being a pedophile or a huge liar like the governingbody. One sin is no greater than the other sin is sin. Some is more repulsive but it is still sin.

I have alerted Br. Peter an elder with the Bible Students, all of their grandparents and some of the 90 year old's parents were disfellowshipped or left. I sit with some 102 and in 90's that remember when Rutherford took over. My dad fought him on the blood issue and was DF'd. Br. Russell at least admitted he was wrong about 1914 being the end of all things. It will shock you to see 98% of what was taught from Bible Student is entirely different.

They make sense. They will allow difference on scriptures from different angles.

Br. Peter will sign up to talk to you here. He is the most loving brother you will meet. He is admin for the friends site.

This site however is a better site to answer your questions on as all of us check to get our updates on this site. Other sites come here also. I am babysitting 4 young grands in a JW household this week. The nanny is a witness but does not know I am not. My son and daughter in law would die if she knew. So that is why you see I am not on right away. This is fall break for grands.

There is no burning hell of course and only after all know what Jehovah's will is after millennium will second death be used by Jehovah. Right now we are witnesses of Jesus and the REAl Jews are the Jehovah witnesses as always. On the site the scriptures and support is there.

Bible Students

Lambsbottom, I was a child. My grandparents and mother were BS. My mother left in the deep south when the society was able to take over the congregations during de-segregation. They built a kingdom hall for the black brothers and appointed a Company Servant and quite a few left and refused to be under the organization. Their takeover was slow in the south in the black communities.

Apognophos: You said the society prints the Studies in the Scriptures.

That is the Chicago Bible Students, Dawn Bible and the Texas, Ohio presses that print the studies in the scriptures.

I have so much old Bible Student talks etc if anyone wants some I live in Indiana but when the BS dies family brings stuff free to conventions. !800 and back. Also the APP. Christien resources have old talks if you search by convention, proving the Bible students were alive and well way back but we were told not to look at TV religious shows or read other literature. Otherwise we would have seen them.

There is an armageddon section on the left that shows what Br. Russell and early Bible Student movements Brothers believed. It will shock the average witness.

All for show, the society knew they existed because they printed the purple Greek interlieyr for Dawn many moons ago. Why they lied and said they were dead is beyond me. But now they are changing or rebranding saying they are the Bible Students and there is no evil slave class as that would have to be them. There is no org.and each ecclias is autonomous and meet in homes like Raymond Franz. We have lots of conventions and adobe connect for them all and one big General and the international was this year. It is more like the very old days but they know some bible.

No just doctrine, they really go deep. No control, you can have different thoughts and they express it. Very, very loving and gossip or evil speaking isn't done. So different from the witnesses.

Hello I bailed 5 years ago. I was a Bible Student for first 12years of life then a witness for the next 50 years. I knew the doctrine was different. Now the witnesses are trying to assume that name. I get most of my info post from this site, JWN to make announcements on the Bible Student site where I am one of the administration. www.friendsofjehovahswitnesses.com. I am Ask Jacqueline.

They are 98% different in doctrine. Rutherford changed everything and yes we believe that Adam was ransomed because he had no experience with sin. It was an act of mercy. So Eve and everything that came from Adam is RANSOMED! This is not the age for world conversion but just to make known the Kingdom and finish the Church then during Millennium ALL will come back because of the ransom for all. Even those that die at armagedddon is not being killed or judged. They will be fighting Israel and will come back to accept Israel and Christ.

Flying high now, we had the Chinese sister give us her experience of 30years in prison at our KH in Indiana. He children hate her. The CO made it known she needs money. She defied the authories by going out on the street corner when all othe witnesses felt it was okay to not go back to that corner.

I didn't know which sister it was in our watchroom as there were two Chinese sisters with her. I introduced myself and asked for their names. She retorted, "You don't know who I am?" I said no should I? She looked at me strange and I looked back and walked out. She was touring the country telling her experiences for money. She left her children to be raised by husband and relatives. Only she went so far and it was her disrespect according to the way she told the story, not persecution, but a crazy woman. And we all looked at her, like this is different from the way she was presented in watchtower. Many said no she can't stand on the platform by herself giving a talk so the CO took the mike asked her to tell her story and he sat down while she talked for 2hrs. She was the most arrogant woman I ever met inside a place of worship. Just thought I wouls tell the rest of the story. bye

kingdom hall insurance....??

i seem to recall that there was an assistance fund set up for insurance on kingdom halls that were essentially set up as insurance.. where you were not to insure the khs by normal insurance companies.does anyone know about this and does any kh claim againt the fund i.e.

My mother and sister in law filed a claim because huge picture over literature counter fell on their backs. They paid 12,000.

The insurance shows the org has a vested interest in the KH properties. This will help them win if a KH says it wants to sell it's hall. They all belong to the org as they never take their name off the deed now when they loan you money to remodel. It is becoause of the Texas and Florida cong. getting ownership.

They paid everything in those days and the society paid nothing, so that is why they now insure the KH to show vested interest in care and insuring. (side-bar)

First post after a year or two of lurking on this site-Sorry for the length!

not sure of the point of telling my story, but just got off the phone with my grandma and i am so angry, stressed and i don't know what else...i guess i just wanted to hear from someone other than my husband that i'm not crazy for my reaction to family interaction.. my condensed story gramatical errors and all :).

father was a born in jw, mother was a convert.

i was born the last of 3 siblings and shortly after my birth in 1981 my parents divorced.

it seems someone in my family is dying every month lately.

i guess when you get my age everyone you are friends with will be gone soon, including myself.. ken p..
