I'm sure there are some here who would like to buy them. And if they are still in, e-bay is a safe way for them to get them without raising suspicions. Let us know your auction number if you decide to do this.

Whats your opinion on why so many WT Branch offices are closing around the world ?
by thetrueone injust caught that yet another branch office has closed in hawaii.. its getting to a point that there seems to be one closing almost one per month now.. is this the future of the wts.
why is this all happening ?.
the wts moving completely out of brooklyn is another big change for the organization.. maybe this is the eventual but gradual demise of the wts.

Save $$$
Most companies only take action on their bottom line when their expenses start to exceed their income (only speculation though).

Dinner With a Pioneer Couple Last Night
by dontplaceliterature inmy wife and i had dinner with a pioneer couple last night that we've been friends with for a long time.
they are both nice people, with the wife having a few dashes of pretentiousness mixed in.. usually when we are together, they always talk about pioneering, which makes some sense as it's the primary focus of thier lives.
however, it has gotten progressively more dominate in conversation over the last couple of years, to the point of being annoying.

Metrics Drive Behavior. THE primary metric for Jehovah's Witnesses is the hours they spend in the ministry.
Imagine if they added a column for "time spent encouraging brothers and sisters" in the field service report. I'm sure, especially among elders, we would see much more shepherding work. I heard an older JW once say "Why do we spend so much time bringin people in the front door, only to have them exiting out the back door." This JW was both active in the ministry and in caring for older ones and those with health issues in the congregation.
The major flaw with metrics is that they tend to dictate behaviours at the expense of equally important unmeasured activities. This happens in business, and can affects Christian Worship the same way.

Our Stories and Why They Matter
by Farkel instories are perhaps the most important thing we can contribute to others in our short life on planet earth.. mind you, i am not saying that stories are the most important things in our lives, because they are not.
the most important things in our lives are experiences, which are moment-by-moment things.
the best we can do with our own experiences is to tell stories about them, which will never convey the actual living of them.

Could "this generation" simply be the generation of fleshly humans
by DJPoetech ini was thinking about that and the crazy confusion of generational rangling being handed over by the gb.. maybe jesus simply refered to fleshly humans as a whole generation knowing he would be the first fruits of a "new generation" of spiritual creatures.. the gb have tried to rework the generational mess but it doesn't improve the outcome.. it would make more sense if we considered that the great crowd (new generation) were in heaven instead of on earth.. again just kicking things around!.
what yall think?.

@brotherdan: Pirata...I have never seen that before. I wish I would have! It's taken me almost 2 years to get to the bottom. I linger around 4 and 5 now-a-days.
It's the Kubler-Ross Model (5 stages of grief). Usually applied to losses in life, like realizing your whole belief system was a sham, or losing a love one in death.
