  What Do Witnesses Do For Fun These Days?

  when i was in , i went on many vacations, ate out at restaurants a lot and drank alcohol.

  loved music and dancing too.... do jws do anything but watch watchtower videos now?

  What's your degree of anti-JWness?

  so, on a scale of 1 to 10, where 1 is absolutely pro-jw, 5 is neutral and 10 is youtubing nutjob apostate, where do you stand?.

  i'm probably around a 6. i have the view that jws are a nothing marginal religion.

  if i hadn't been brought up as one i doubt they would have ever entered my consciousness.. the reasons it's a 6 and not a 5 is that i have some concerns over their child baptism and safeguarding procedures, but i think it's down to them being a bit dim rather than any pro child abusing ethos.

  How do JW's determine a person is anointed?

  i've always wondered about this.

  when a person believes they made a spiritual connection with god and proclaims themselves as anointed, how do they determine whether this person is anointed or not.

  does a group of elders look at the person's spiritual resume and check off the person's pioneer stats, bible knowledge, attendance, work ethic, personality, etc and then believe in the person if they have a good track record?

  an atheist (never jw) friend of mine is an rv for a jw who he is trying to deprogram.

  he started this totally on his own and just telling me about it.

  it's quite amusing what he comes up with.. point 1: why the s & m stuff with foreskins?

  an anointed old lady used to give me a lift home from the KH back in the mid 80-s. I was only about 18 at the time and she must have been in her 80's, she drove an old french Citroen. I remember asking her in the car how she knew she was of 'the anointed' and her reply was very kindly. She just said that her spirit had connected with Jehovah. She then asked me how I knew I wasn't and was I sure.
