What Are Some Of The Dumbest Beliefs JW's Have?
by minimus ini know there are a lot.. one belief i never understood is that blood fractions might be ok for a christian but not "whole blood".
to me the "blood doctrine" is ridiculous from a scriptural point of view..

Most-Ignored Scriptures by JWs
by Mad Sweeney inthe watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.

Designs- I was asking for examples of scriptures that other Christian denominations ignore. That's what this thread is about..ignored scriptures
Not a captive wrote- I see in the study material that we had last week that I am not considered part of the Body of Christ unless I "believe in" the Trinity. I have discussed this with my study conductor. I have put before her that I do not understand why I must say the formula that has been forced down the throats of so many since the 4th century. I DO believe and affirm every Bible text that Jesus and the apostles taught.
I respectively disagree. The teaching of the Trinity has not been forced down your throat. It clearly is in scripture. Not the word Trinity, but it's concept. The Father , the Son and the Holy Ghost are all referred to as God and having attributes that only God could have. So let me add a few more scriptures that the Watchtower ignores supporting this position. seeing how you stated that you do believe and affirm every bible text that Jesus and the apostles taught.
These are Holy Ghost examples. Acts 13;2 The Holy Spirit refers to himself as 'I', Acts 5;3 "he" can be lied to, Acts 8;29. 10;19, 20; 13;2 'he' hears, Acts 21;11 'he' knows the future. John 15;26 'he' teaches, John 16;8-11 'he' prays and intercedes. Romans 15;30 'he' guides, Romans 8;26 'he' loves, Is 63;10 'he' feels hurt. In Heb 10;29 'he' can be outraged. These are the attributes of a person, not an active force. And lastly Mark 3;29 states that the Holy Spirit can be blasphemed....guess what.....Only God can be blasphemed. That is why these are scriptures that the Watchower would have it's adherents avoid. Are there scriptures that other Christian groups ignore? That was the question. Thanks

Can you possibly AGREE with this statement?
by Terry ini'm going to make a statement that is simple and direct and i want to ask you if you agree.. before i make the statement i want to give an analogous example so that you can quickly understand my intention.. .
when we decided to put 3 of our children in the finest school possible we turned to private schools with the best reputation.
nothing wrong with that, right?.

Terri, I respectively disagree. Sorry, but as I do feel that the watchtower is crackpot, I find that most JWs that I have met are sincere people who are looking for the truth. It is only after denial of sriptural evidence that contidicts the Watchtower do I see the crackpot come out in some witnesses. But most are God fearing and rational....except for my brother, the JW.

Every single Denomination claiming Christianity makes all of the same goof ball and sometimes dangerous mistakes the Society makes.
Designs - Can you find an amount of scriptures that other Christian organizations do not promote?
What are ignored scriptures from Pentecostal, Protestant, Evengelical, Catholic and Orthodox churches?
I'm not looking to change this thread, but I think the point is that the Watchtower ignores a massive amount of scriptural evidence that contidicts many of their doctrines. As is evident from the examples displayed on these 3 [so far] pages.

how about 'people who twist scripture, twist everything'
sorry, don't remember exactly where that one is.
In one of Paul's letters he say to 'not hold judgement against a man if he holds one day above another' The watchtower can't like that one too I would suppose.
Great posts to you all.

I'd imagine that any scriptures that discribe Christ as King of kings or Lord of lords is easily ignored by the Watchtower as is the scripture that says you are to honor the Son same as the Father,[sorry, forget which one].
I remember that John 8:58 is the scripture in which Jesus declares his Divinity 'Amen, amen, I say to you, before Abraham came to be, I AM.'
Sure, my brother [and any other good witness], would answer the 'I have been' is in perfect tense. As a matter of fact, he constantly tells me that Jesus never said he was God, that he knew who he was.
I answer that he was, he is and he will be the same..always. That's why the Jews wanted to kill him. 'I have been' may have sounded strange, but not worthy of stoning to death, right?

Validity of JW Baptism
by maputo95 inplease could someone tell me what is said in a jw baptism?
i was told that jw baptisms are invalid because they do not baptise in the "name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit.
because of this invalid baptism a catholic cannot marry a jw with church approval, i think.

zzaphod wrote "I was never baptised as an infant, so I view my JW baptism as valid."
I do not understand this statement. Are you suggesting that infant baptisms are invalid? In the book of Acts there are many examples of folks being baptised. 'he and his whole household' If you had an infant in your household and you were getting baptised, ofcourse, you'd baptise your infant too, right?. Any family member in my household [and yours] would be included, wouldn't they?
