hi everyone...thank you for all your well wishes for my scottish hols...it was nice..warm dry weather...lovely scenery...a good rest... what i will remember the most about the holiday is that i read ray franz's book there...in fact i struggled to put it down.
it was so revealing and informative but was also written without bitterness or malice.
it stirred many emotions within me ...too many probably...anger, remorse, indignation, sorrow, heartbreak, frustration, sympathy....you name it.... a big emotional journey for me....thanks to all for the recommend i would hate to have missed it..... loz x.
Why, the cathicism of th Catholic church...of course.
Why is it interesting/helpful/good?
It is interesting because you see how the traditions were set with their scriptural examples. Helpful in getting an education on what the Catholic church really teaches instead of the propaganda against the Church. Good? Good for learning the truth of the Church's teachings instead of reading quotes out of context. I feel terrible when I read that a former JW has given up their Christian faith because of the lies that the Watchtower promotes. Then that same ex JW feels like there is no where else to go. Don't give up your faith, just learn it better. I have yet to meet an ex Catholic who converted to Jehovah witnesses that was a good Catholic. They all had no true education in their faith and could not defend it against the seemingly scholarly proofs that JWs are trained in throwing. Any current JWs who are ex Catholics have an opposing opinion? Just curious. respectively, dc
back to the god and godzilla difference:.
"some worshipers at a catholic church in oklahoma are outraged over a. crucifix hanging above the main altar that they say shows an image of.
genitalia on jesus, the oklahoman reports.".
Doncha think He might hold such things against you?

the watchtower has been known for over 130 years as a great scriptural cherry-picker.
they pick out disparate unrelated verses and combine them to support the wackiest of wacky doctrines.. on the other hand there are many scriptures they almost never address, whether because they contradict wt doctrine or because they simply don't have a clue what they mean or how to spin them to the wt advantage.. one of these is revelation 19:1 that mentions a "great crowd" "in heaven.
" the only time it is ever brought up it is dismissed.
Mad JW . I do not believe that I am way off. I am only stating facts. Bold scripture that you can't deny if you're a true Christian....a Christian believes the bible, right? If you follow Watchtower teachings then this should look familiar
Taking verses out of their immediate context.
Refusing to read verses in the entire biblical context.
Inserting their theological presuppositions into the text.
Altering the Biblical text to suit their needs.
Latching onto one verse to interpret a host of others.
Changing the meanings of words.
Proclaiming some passages to be figurative when they contradict their doctrines.
Adding to the Word of God.
Just some of the issue that true Christians have with the Watchtower's tactics and interpretations.

Post 76 of 160 Since 9/13/2009 | PS- Jesus has the position ("Voice") of Archangel; he didn't take it away from someone else. There is God, angels/messengers, and man. Jesus is NOT the Almighty, thus is a mighty spirit being...an ANGEL- the greatest of them all (Heb 1:9) |
I disagree MJW. Your position here is unscriptural. Jesus speaks with the voice of a messenger [angel=messeger in greek] and Jesus can rightly be said to have proclaimed his father's will. To say he has the position of angel because he spoke in an angels voice is to say that the burning bush was just a burning bush and not God speaking to Moses. The JW faith is based on lies. I'm very sorry, but the only way one could believe all the bs is to be prohibited from reading the truth from accredited, scholarly sources. The whole faith is from a man who didn't like what was taught, so he made up his own faith.
The Jehovah's Witness who does just a little basic research with an open mind will discover that their beliefs are based on an irrational adherence to doctrines that have no basis in reality, and have no basis in the Bible.

It's interesting to note that there are not any scriptures noted that other Christian groups would chose to ignore....plenty that the watchtower and it's adherents would [and do] ignore. Still trying to say that the trinity is a concept started from the 4th century. Isn't that when the bible books were confirmed? those crazy catholics...atleast they gave us the bible.

hello - my bro [and many others] often speak of how the true teachings of jesus and the apostles were corrupted and as one poster recently wrote 'since then, the catholic church has been forcing the trinity down our throat'.
is there any evidence to support the great apostasy?
is there any evidence to support such claims?.
