hello, i asked a new but old friend how many people are still christians after leaving the watchtower's mind control agency, for statistical purposes do you mind if i do a survey and see how many of you are believers?.

please don't post if your not a believer out of respect for this poll, we need to sharpen each other's sword and help build each other up and meet new friends over the internet with faith in god or some other force of the universe.

i asked another person how we can still manage our faith after getting burned by the high group mind control, he had a few ideas but he's not really involved with god because of how life burned him.

Personally I am a revert. Was raised catholic and when my JW brother converted he spoke of all the evils of the Church. I left the catholic church without getting answers to questions that were brought up. A few years later after another sibling visited Medjugorje I felt the desire to find some answers to these questions. The answers are there. You just don't look for answers from a place that hates. Find answers from those that love. What I mean is that if I want to find out about anything. The best source is from people who love the topic, not from people who hate the topic.

So I started asking questions about catholics from priests, nuns, lay people [converts/reverts] etc.

I also started asking questions about WTS teachings from my elder brother and many of his peers and other elders that my brother referred to me.

After researching it was easy to see what made sense and what didn't fit.

Lying for the truth was the biggest thing to me that led me to believe that JWs will say ANYTHING to further their membership drive. Truth means nothing. I mean real truth.

Just asking because it seems that they will lie to their own as well as potential converts.

Do Jehovah's Witnesses really practice charity and help the needy in war ravaged areas in third-world countries?

the pusher i have told a young man today that jehovah's witnesses are one of the biggest helpers with hunger reliefs and bringing solar stoves to west africa and the watchtower has donated vast resources to help ebola victims by providing hundreds of "clean up stations" plus jehovah's witnesses are sending millions of dollars in medical aid, is this true?.

are jehovah witnesses with backing from the watchtower helping eliminate illiterate children like the catholic church is doing in uganda and kenya by housing 5 to 13 year old kids and proving two meals, a roof over their head and education up to 15 years giving them a edge, so they don't end up in the sex trade, as a jw-cart the pride swelled up in my heart knowing how generous our organization is with the poor.

My best friend - Helping him wake up?

so, first off, after my learning ttatt i've been feeling so much better!

my depression is gone, i'm so much more motivated, i can do everything i've always wanted to do but was forbidden from doing.

now, my best friend is still in, however, i feel that he may have a chance at waking up.

Be careful if you want to keep your friend. It is quite possible that your would be branded apostate. Are other family members and support people in the borg with you?

Went to a viewing at a Catholic Church...not what I expected

a child in my daughter's class lost his mother very recently.

we went to the viewing last night at the local catholic church.

in the foyer area there was a bulletin board with pamphlets regarding child sex abuse, including by the church, in both english and spanish.

The Catholic church claims that it is the biggest charity organization on the planet.I haven't researched that claim, but I heard it on a radio ad.
