if you are confronted with facts which are reported by reliable sources which are hard to dispute and deny, and you choose to dismiss these as "apostate lies" rather than looking at these from an objective point of view, it's your fault and you deserve the consequences of willful ignorance!.
Divergent-Good for you to speak your mind and defend your position. I had come to this board with similar feelings regarding these people who believe that 'lying for the TRUTH' is acceptable. I mean who could think such a thing would be alright? What I found out is that these issues are more complicated than that.

this question came out frequently from a situation known to some of us who knew of 2 cases.... if a single or married sister gets rapped by stranger or incest, a pregnancy results, she is not allowed to have an abortion but neither is she allowed to give it up for adoption?...i always question why not up for adoption?...

ACTS 5 :3-4 is a proof text. Peter calls the Holy Spirit God. You have lied to the Holy Spirit. You have lied to God he says.
ISAIAH 9 :6 states that Jesus is God. A child is born, a son is given, he is to be called, wonderful councilor, mighty God, eternal father.
Similar to the hell texts. Jesus spoke more of hell then he did of heaven, yet those are scriptural passages the the WTS will play down and in some cases simply deny.

HE is still conditioned to judge.
Now that you are not, try to show him with your love and actions as opposed to explaining your position as he won;t listen to that.

i guess the big thing for me to push me over the edge is the generation overlapping thingy.
yesterday i read something that hurt my heart.
at a talk given by a brother lyman swingle ( i apologize if i am stepping out of line by using this) he said "that if you leave the jw ( i find it difficult to refer to it as the truth now days) you may as well go jump off a bridge".
this i think is disgraceful talk to say to any body let alone an audience in which children are present.
