Everyone would have polio.
No one would have a hospital, a school, or any charity towards other folks who needed help.
Just stating the facts
in my former indoctrinated state, i used to yearn for a time when all the world would be jws.
but hang on minute, let's just think about what the world would be like if everyone was a jw,.
first of all, no higher education, so no medical advances, no scientific research, no modern day medicine, infectious disease rife, no doctors, no engineers, so no modern day comforts.
Everyone would have polio.
No one would have a hospital, a school, or any charity towards other folks who needed help.
Just stating the facts
i think most scholarship would agree with a positive answer to that question.
but let's take a look for oursselves.
geza vermes, in his excellent translation ( the complete dead sea scrolls in english-penguin.
Do get the real feel of the early Christian Church you could [should] consult the church fathers and their writings. That is the real deal on what the early church was all about. It's important to remember that the bible followed the church [like 350 years later], the church didn't follow the bible [like it does for so many later Christian orgs]. Below is a copied/pasted article on a few early church fathers from Wikipedia. Notice that their writings are still preserved and available.
Sorry, no comment on the dead sea scrolls
His epistle, 1 Clement (c. 96),[5] was copied and widely read in the Early Church.[6] Clement calls on the Christians of Corinth to maintain harmony and order.[5] It is the earliest Christian epistle aside from the New Testament.
Ignatius of Antioch (also known as Theophorus) (c. 35–110)[7] was the third bishop or Patriarch of Antioch and a student of the Apostle John. En route to his martyrdom in Rome, Ignatius wrote a series of letters which have been preserved. Important topics addressed in these letters include ecclesiology, the sacraments, the role of bishops, and theIncarnation of Christ.[8] He is the second after Clement to mention Paul's epistles.[5]
Polycarp of Smyrna (c. 69 – c. 155) was a Christian bishop of Smyrna (now İzmir in Turkey). It is recorded that he had been a disciple of "John." The options for this John areJohn, the son of Zebedee, traditionally viewed as the author of the Gospel of John, or John the Presbyter.[9] Traditional advocates follow Eusebius in insisting that the apostolic connection of Polycarp was with John the Evangelist, and that he was the author of the Gospel of John, and thus the Apostle John.
would the jehovah`s witnesses be a shoe in , for the most about face , flip flop , of doctrine , beliefs , and practices in this 21st century , to have previously strongly held beliefs and then for them to be discarded in their 140 ?
year history ?.
i think they take the cake .. smiddy.
The WTS would most definitely make the world record for flip flops. WT Aug 1917
The WTS does not meet the criteria for the world record of flip flops. WT Sept 1932
We can say with certainty that the WTS would make the world record for flip flops. WT June 1975
The WTS would not ever meet the standards for the record for flip flops. WT May 1999
they could try this:.

If trolly carts crash and burn as it probable would......
They'll come up with some other gimmick and sell it to the masses privately chanting to themselves 'there's one born every minute'
i mean this with all due respect, i would like to hear from genuine people who think jw have it wrong and then what is the truth?.
im not talking about silly little quibbles here and there.. is jehovah real?
the the bible is word?
Looks like you have your answer formerbrother. Nothing is going to change your mind. Not reason, common sense or traceable history. Just a lot of pages of people who know nothing.
2. There is a creator, but JW's are not the closest to the truth, but after 21 pages of hundreds of posts, we still cant find another alternative.

i was browsing through stuff on jw.org recently and ran across some expressions that really grate on my nerves: loyal love, loving-care, and loving-kindness, as in: "please exercise loving-kindness toward your servant.
" who talks like that?
they must be relics of the fred franz era.
I personally hate the terms
"Lying for the Truth" aka "Theocratic Warfare" Why? Because Satan is the father of lies and our warfare should be against evil and not people.
Another term is a scriptural verse from Jesus "You know a tree from it's fruits" Why? Not because of Jesus's verse, but because the WTS has NO fruits. They have lots of works [restoring God's name and going door to door and magazine carts, etc], but what are the fruits? Non existent. Works without fruits do not have the blessings of God...sorry
i always accepted that the nwt said that these verses in john were not in the most reliable manuscripts.
i thought it was strange that while the "old" nwt at least included the verses, the "revised" nwt completely omits them.
now i'm trying to do research on my own, but my head is still spinning from all of the information i've taken in the past week.
Try reading the bible without the aid of other's influence or opinions. You need not know the deeper things until you know the basics.
Also..read slowly so that you lessen the chances of missing important points that may have been overlooked in the past.
Biblehub or other online bibles sources will give scholarly explanations of books and verses as opposed to Jim's bible which may not be very reliable.
Sources that have professors with PHDs and are affiliated with universities are much more reliable then sources without......very obviously
sorry, I didn't even give thoughts on John 7;53-8;11
The Truth Will Set You Free
this was the line my nephew gave me regarding why jws don't give alms.
i had several rebuttals to give him, but didn't.
i was hoping for some comments from this board.
The WTS indicates that we are on the Titanic and have been since 1874[?]
Maybe we're on the QE2

I think if there were only 3 months or less before an asteroid destroyed the earth, then, yes. Don't paint the rooms....
But if there is more time, then you gotta do all that Jesus asked [if that's your Christian position].
I guess my train of thought revolves around the WTS's 140 year + [and counting] voyage after the planet hit that big iceberg....that no one else noticed.
Also -Ignoranceisbliss- I just got your post. Very funny!...Just a delayed reaction from me
