The WTS assumes alot and then teach that they are the mouthpiece of God.
How do they even know that the bible is the word of God?

The authority to determine what the Bible including Dan. 4 means was conferred in 1919 after Christ's final temple inspection
That's not an answer about authoritatively interpreting what the scriptures say. Why would someone accept the WTS take on biblical interpretation. With some 40k different forms of Christianity, how do they convince people that they have that authority is my question I guess.

What actually happened AFTER Jesus zoomed up into the clouds and disappeared?
by TerryWalstrom inwhat happened after jesus zoomed up into the sky?for a while, he was expected to return rather quickly.in the meantime, there was the “great commission” and evangelism to be tended to.. the jesus believers were meeting in people's homes.
members of that community would take turns using private homes to gather.
thus, they went house to house.. these footstep tracers of jesus (they called themselves akolouthontes "followers" or some called themselves mathetai or "learners.

The Jesus believers were meeting in people's homes. Members of that community would take turns using private homes to gather. Thus, they went house to house.
These footstep tracers of Jesus (they called themselves Akolouthontes "followers" or some called themselves Mathetai or "learners.") were puzzling out what it meant to follow Jesus. Who was he...really? Was he going to return? Why? When?
Each was curious about the others. Maybe somebody else knew something they didn't? They sought each other out....with questions...
If somebody brought word that another house in another town had Akolouthontes or Mathetai a person would be appointed as an emissary. These emissaries were called Apostles. The job of an apostle was to contact other believers and create a network with them.
This is quite incorrect. There were many who had met Jesus and tried to follow his ways. They were called disciples. They were not a religion, just different people who met Jesus or heard of him and put their limited knowledge of Jesus and his teachings into their lives. Not a bad thing, just not a religion.
Jesus did start a church and commissioned his [12] apostles to start it and promote the growth of His church by doing ALL that Jesus had commanded, not just some of what he commanded. This is known by how each of the apostles started to grow His church with consistently similar teachings and sacraments. It's called history. Door to door? Maybe that happened, but that's not how His church grew. Just saying....cause its's true

Russell and the Jehovah's Witnesses are mentioned in article: "Will the world end on Saturday?"
by pseudoxristos ingoogle news featured the following article.
will the world end on saturday?...then there were the followers of charles taze russell, a 19th-century preacher who looked for jesus’ return and the resurrection of the dead (christians only, please) in 1878 (and again in 1914).
they became jehovah’s witnesses, who now ring doorbells around the world (and are persecuted for it in some places — looking at you, russia).

"Eyewitness" testimony is about as accurate as Jehovah's Witness testimony, for sure.
Wish I could agree, but Witnesses employ Theocratic warfare [aka 'Lying for the Truth'tm]
Eye witness testimony tends to cross over to people of different beliefs so their witness to specific events are considered more reliable.

My Father has brandished me with the "APOSTATE" word for talking about the BIBLE!
by stuckinarut2 inso after three years of fading, my elder father has never really asked why we have chosen to stop attending.. today, after a mixed discussion, he starts talking about the "solution to all the world problems" and says "i don't know what you now believe, but i believe gods kingdom will fix everything" i let the comment go, and didn't respond.. then he goes on about the video "remember the wife of lot" because he just came from the convention last weekend.
"don't get caught up in this system...blah blah".
i couldn't help myself, and said one thing "dad, that video failed to show the next chapter of that account.

I am so sorry to hear about that. I have the same issue with my uber JW elder brother.
I would point out the very obvious distructive problems with the WTS and he would 'blah, blah, blah, look at the fruits'
OK, let's look at the fruits. What fruits?
'blah, blah, blah we're the only ones going door to door and restoring God's true name"
OK, that's works, not fruits. Blessed works produce good fruits. What are the fruits?
Silence.....
He was totally dumbfounded by works not being fruits...sad
WTS works produce no fruits what so ever it seems, but people [like my brother] who have been manipulated will not see that unfortunately.
