If the WTS earnestly states that 'the great apostasy' of Christianity happened in the early 4th century, then how can they trust the bible to be the true word of God when the bible wasn't confirmed until the late 4th century?

Actually, things like hospitals, etc., came from Islam. They were miles ahead, as well as with astronomy, architecture, and mathematics, while the superstitious Christians were dunking women in the pond to see if they would drown, while the church was selling Indulgences, while Luther and Calvin were urging and praising the authorities for burning and torturing their religious opponents.
Thomas Wood wrote "How the Catholic Church Built Western Civilization" in which he details all of the things which are attributed , from real history, to the Catholic Church.

Doug Mason- Although I wasn't there to hear Jesus's words, I do trust what I have read. I trust because I have faith.
I have faith because [aside from the gift of faith from God,] it is reasonable to follow the crumbs from the early church fathers. They certainly wrote stuff down and more than one was a direct disciple from more than one apostle.
That's the church that gave the world the bible and told the world that it was the word of God.
This same church gave the world great fruits thru it's works. Things like a universities, hospitals, shelters for the sick, mentally ill, cripples, homeless and helpless. Far too many things to list here. No other faith, government, organization or dynasty can claim these truths. You may not like or even agree, but that fact remains true.
Jesus never said to write anything down because that wasn't the media 2 thousand years ago. Most people couldn't read even 200years ago, jeshe...Only a limited few could read and/or write.
Knowledge or teachings were spread orally. Jesus commissioned the apostles to go to all nations teaching all that he TOLD them, not what he told them to write.
You may think that it should have been writen because the WTS is a big publishing house, so I can see why you'd think Jesus should have written stuff down. But you're in error to think that's what should have happened.

The reason that they go to the OT so much is because they have so little in common with very obvious problems with following the commands of Jesus.
Really? Jesus never said that he was God
He said ir so many times in so many ways that the WTS just distorts.
Quick example - Jesus said to come to him, he didn't say 'come to my teachings' or 'Go to the Father',
He said 'All men MUST come to me to go to the Father'
He also said "I am the way, the truth and the life"
JWs deny the most obvious truth of WHO Jesus is. They haven't a &%$#ing clue

truth is so important to them that they even use the term "truth" as a name for their teachings.

The bible was never intended to be a something to base a religion on.
The bible [a collection of books] was put together and confirmed by catholic bishops hundreds of years after Jesus rose from the dead. [around 380 ad]
The idea of a religion based on the bible and calling it Christianity just doesn't work when you add up those facts.
Who ever said the bible is the word of God? The catholic church, that's who. It's a catholic book and JWs typically hate the catholics just as they have been taught by the WTS

or do we trust what god says?.
Because the bible was not confirmed until around 380 ad [or so] it begs the question that JWs do not ask. What was the early church like? the first 300 plus years
Did the early Christians believe that Jesus was God? Did they drink the wine and eat the bread believing that it was the body and blood of Jesus?
I think it was Dr Scott Hahn who said 'For those bold enough to earnestly research the claims of the catholic church, they will have a spiritual shock that would delight them.'

The word 'apostate' should go hand and hand with 'education'
That's why people leave the WTS. They are apostates BECAUSE they are educated

WTS are the biggest apostates!
Any group that promotes lying to attain it's own distorted goals are apostates to the Almighty who has stated in the scriptures over and over again that HE hates a liar and He hates a lying tongue.
JWs say ' We can lie because people hiding Jews during WW2 lied to protect them and that was righteous'
Of course, no one is holding a gun to anyone's head when asking legit questions about their faith.
So tell me again. How many times has the WTS falsely predicted the end times?
