  No it doesn't. Your challenge has been answered, but your too proud to acknowledge. Common trait from a sociopath.

  That isn't true. I worked out that the religion I had been raised in was false so I admitted I was wrong and I left at great personal cost. I became an evangelical christian for almost a decade but I never stopped learning and testing my beliefs. I eventually worked out that it was not reasonable to believe in the existence of a loving god.

  Really? How, by reading the bible? That's only a small part of true Christianity. Did you ever go to the source? NO, You went from Dave's correspondence college [WTS] to Bill's community college [evangelical studies] when you could have [still could] go to the Harvard. [That's an analogy that is admittedly far better than my time analogy.lol]

  EXPLICITLY states that Jesus and the Holy Ghost are God. Period.

  The bible nowhere states the trinity. Why not?

  Don't need the word trinity as the bible EXPLICITLY states that Jesus, the Father and the Holy Ghost are God. You're just making nonsensical noise again. Still can't acknowledge what the bible says about 'Who is the Lord'....typical sociopath behavior

The present was once the future and will be the past, The future will be the present and the past. Each one is 100 percent time all together at the same time. So how is that a convoluted illustration? Again, which word did you not understand.

  This analogy is equivalent to saying Cofty, Onager and TTWSYF are human, therefore, they are one.

  The evolution of the divinity of Jesus can be traced through the NT. I can argue powerfully from the bible that Jesus is not god and that he is god. The truth is that the bible does not contain a consistent Christology.

  It's a horribly convoluted illustration. Time is not a person. It doesn't 'agree' or 'contradict'. It is never in 3 states. Future and past are not objective things they are subjective constructs.

  Well I would tend to oppose the Trinity on the grounds that it is contrary to scripture.

  I respectfully disagree. There are a boat load of explicit scriptures stating that 3 [Father, Jesus and the Holy Ghost] are God in the scriptures

  Snare&racket - Explaining how three gods can be one.....

  1. A silly analogy.... "Water can be a liquid, gas or a solid and god can be god, man and spirit." The resson an analogy is reauired, not becaue the listener is intellectually challenged and requires help, but the point being made is so illogical, irrational and unproven an analogy is required to distract away from the original issue.

  It's not 3 gods being one. It's one God in three persons and the Church says that it is a mystery that cannot be understood...acknowledged.

  Your analogy of water is incorrect.. Water in liquid, gas and solid is what Cofty alluded to when he wrote of Modalism. Isn't that right Cofty?

  I'm not replying here to convert you or anyone else. I am just replying to the opening topic about 'Who is the Lord'.

  JW answers got treated quite poorly [in my mind] by Cofty and his same ol same ol.

  Where did you learn about the heresy of Modalism? HMM?
  

  Oh, right, the Catholic church defined that as a heresy just like they did against most all JW beliefs many centuries ago.

  You should re read what you think you know about Modalism. That is the erroneous belief that God takes different forms at different times. IE-He is the Father today, he is the Holy Ghost tonight, He is Jesus in the morning. That's Modalism. My analogy of time is not Modalism. RIght now there is a past, a present and a future. Not replacing one with another, they are all happening right now.

  Of course,, I acknowledge that there is no analogy that can describe God, so why don't you just answer the question of the topic post.

  Does the bible say that Jesus is Lord?

  Let me know what word you don't understand and I'll try to clarify...hahaha, what a bully you are buddy!

  Well, first off, I go to the source for interpreting the scriptures. Like it [or not] the New testament is a Catholic book. They put it together, they protected it through the centuries, they used it in their liturgy and told YOU that it is the word of God. They did all of that and they know what it means more than any JW, Baptist, Unitarian, Mormon Calvinist or any other Johnny come lately Christian that thought they knew better.

  Of course, the Father is Lord, but also Jesus is Lord. The scriptures are quite clear and explicit in stating that the Father is God, Jesus is God and the Holy Ghost is God.

  The Hebrew scriptures always emphasize the 'oneness' of God. I always thought "How can Jesus and the Holy Spirit be God if God is one?"

  The answer is in the Old Testament. In Hebrew there are 2 words for 'one' There is the singular 'one' like we use in English, but in Hebrew there is a plural 'one' that indicates the combining of more than one thing but is also described as 'one'

  Yachid and Echad are the words in Hebrew and God is always described in the plural 'one' in Hebrew. Never in the singular.

  God with us, in the flesh, just like the Hebrew scriptures prophesied.

  Of course, it is impossible to have an accurate analogy to describe God as there is nothing like God. We, as human beings cannot really comprehend even the existence of a being that has no beginning or an end. So no analogy really works, but I think of the Godhead much like 'time'. Time has a PAST, a PRESENT and a FUTURE, All of these moments are 100% time, yet they are not the same, yet they all agree and have a place in relation to each other.

  it really is common sense, but nobody here seems to recognize or acknowledge this blatant and obvious truth.. the holy bible is the result of the catholic liturgy.

  they used these scriptures in their religious practices and confirmed which books would and would not be part of their cannon.

  they picked, preserved and promoted these books and gave 'the word of god' to the world.. i know that pisses off some folks, but it is the truth [not the 'truth'tm].

  And worth mentioning that truth is where you find it. There is some truth in some paganism. Paganism, like all religions was the attempt of people to get closer to true spirituality. Looking and trying to figure out what works and doesn't work fumbling through the unknown and unseen.
