i haven’t posted here for years as i have now moved on and am satisfied with the choice i have made to leave watchtower.
however in light of the coronavirus and people in australia and other countries being asked to stay at home i became concerned for a witness sister who lives in melbourne alone who is 88 years old.
today i gave her a call as i don’t trust the local witnesses to care for her.
It's great that you have even reached out to this lonely elderly woman. Just giving her your time is showing great love. If you trust in God [and his mercy, forgiveness, etc]. then it is totally ok and appropriate to share that hope with her. If not, share what you have and that's good too.

so my wife is so diluted and brainwashed.
during this time she is having so much anxiety, mainly because me and my son's want nothing to do with the religion.. so the discussion was, i told her will never go back because they go way beyond what the bible teaches all the time.
i brought up overlapping generation, 607 and then i told her...show me where in the bible that jesus returned invisbly in 1914 and started ruling?
Maybe you could ask what gives the WTS the authority to interpret the bible?
With some 40k different forms of Christianity, how does one know who has the true knowledge [aside from them saying that they have the authority]?
The WTS says so, and that's it? No other evidence aside from their [ever changing] words

in comment section of this link people are abusing again jehovah's witnesses.
I think the Watchtower has a very searchable history tracing a time line of erroneous false predictions of end of world that begin with it's creation in the mid/late 19th century.
I think that the Watchtower changes it's theology based on who is in charge of it's unique form of faith, growth and influence.

jws are mistaken when they believe the bible teaches:.
1. that their leaders somehow represent the faithful and wise servant.
I would say that no protesting church or organization has the authority to interpret the NT.
It is a catholic book written and compiled and preserved by the catholic church.
The catholic church told the world that it is the word of God. I think that the WTS would have to prove that the catholic church really did lose their authority with their book AND prove that they really did restore what , if anything was lost/corrupted by the catholic church, I have never seen any of this proof.

i know that it must seem silly to ask, but my brother and his family think that the big a will arrive before they die.
i tried to explain to my brother that everyone else who has ever lived in the past has died and only jesus has [physically] rose from the dead.. it is amazing that anyone could buy that line.
what crazy cult culture that could make people believe such nonsense?!.
Are JWs still taught/told that they will never die? That death will not touch God's sole channel of communication to the world?
those that discouraged working full time and/or getting some post secondary education and will now feel the pinch because of a tanking economy?.
I feel bad for anyone [everyone] who's unprepared. It sucks for everyone who relies on the economy for their livelihood. We all live in the world. And we all live together.

the book of hebrews declare that jesus is god in this verse.
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
I dont remember that I ever heard something about this rather complicated passage in Hebrews in any talk in my witnesstime.
I'm not surprised. There is a similar passage in the OT describing God identically.

I totally disagree as sin is a real thing. It is a disordered attachment to the pleasure and security of ones self with the disregard to the pleasure and security of others...in a nutshell. Seeking your own pleasure without the concern for others is selfish, hence sinful.
