Hi Rattigan.
Can you be specific? I don't see a single sign for the parousia in either chapter.
No, no one can, but I'm sure someone will cut and paste some nonsensical propaganda that will muddy the waters more...lol
i just wonder about this topic as it is now 109 years since that date and what was expected to take place has never happened ..

i'll start by stating the obvious... according to the watchtower, the catholic church is a huge part of babylon the great which is led by satan and his demons.
raymundus martini, a catholic monk (who "represents" babylon the great to some extent), woke up one day in the 13th century and decided to alter yhwh so it can be easily pronounced.
hence the spanish-ish version of yhwh was created... jehova... (sounds something like this in spanish: heh-o-va).
It’s amazing to me that the JWs as a whole never think about the Catholic Church as the source of the New Testament. This “whore of Babylon “ started by Jesus himself and his apostles (according to the internet) are evil and cursed but their book, the Bible, that’s the word of God.
Where do JWs think the Bible came from?
Don't they know it’s from the Catholics?

due to their apparent theological bias, the watchtower shamelessly inserts the word "other" in order to "make room" for their own idea that jesus is also a created being.
it is clear that jehovah's witnesses try to avoid having to admit that christ created everything because "the one who constructed all things is god" (hebrews 3:4).
instead, the society teaches that "christ was the only one created by god," and that then he "created everything else with jehovah.
Are you continuously reposting the same post over and over again?
here’s a couple good ones: a. jesus said, “come to me and i will give you rest”.. why did jesus command us to go to him and not jehovah?.
why does the bible say that the name of jesus is above every name?
.
1 Corinthians 12;9-11
New International Version
to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by that one Spirit, to another miraculous powers, to another prophecy, to another distinguishing between spirits, to another speaking in different kinds of tongues, and to still another the interpretation of tongues. All these are the work of one and the same Spirit, and he distributes them to each one, just as he determines.
These passages say that the Holy Ghost distributes gifts as HE determines.

Enough is enough, I agree with you that cherry, picking scriptures and taking them out of context, is an awful way to make a point. It’s blatant lying when it’s taken out of context. Are there any scriptural examples in particular that you were referring to from this thread?

This is a biggie
John 5;22-23
New International Version
Moreover, the Father judges no one, but has entrusted all judgment to the Son, that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father, who sent him.
This passage states that Jesus is equal to God AND if you don't accept that, then you are not honoring the Father.
John 5;18
New International Version
For this reason they tried all the more to kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.
This scripture passage states unequivocally that Jesus stated himself equal to God.
John 10;33
New International Version
"We are not stoning you for any good work," they replied, "but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to be God."
Another passage where Jesus explicitly claims divinity.

DJW - I disagree. Acts in particular is most definitely a direct reference of the Holy Ghost being directly God or at least equal to God. I’ll add more scripture references later on.

acts chapter 2 clearly shows (in jw minds) that door-door preaching was a must for all converts.
(acts 2:37, 38, 41, 42) “now when they heard this, they were stabbed to the heart, and they said to peter and the rest of the apostles: “men, brothers, what should we do?” peter said to them: “repent, and let each one of you be baptized in the name of jesus christ for forgiveness of your sins, but also, preach to others by knocking on their doors.
...and on that day about 3,000 people were added.
To me,
A better question than “How did the apostles spread Christianity? “ , IE- knocking on doors, would be “what did they teach? “
That’s where the truth of Christianity comes from. They may have gone and knocked on doors as well as taught in Synogoges, they were in market places, etc. They preached wherever they could. They preached with a real threat of personal safety.
So, The question is not how they taught, the question is, unequivocally, what did they teach? That’s what they gave their life for. What they taught, not how they taught.
You’ll find what they taught not only in the writings of the Bible, but also in the writings of the next generation of “church fathers “ who were taught directly from the apostles themselves. And many traveled off to different lands to help start churches throughout the ancient world.
just saying because it’s true

Blotty- I have no interest in reading your posts on your research. I am only listing scriptures that do not fit WT theology. Don't you understand that?
You said that the Holy Ghost is never called "he" and I replied that was nonsense and gave you dozens of examples. Your reply? Don't read it in english. What complete and utter nonsense you are posting.
That said, more scriptures that might not fit WT theology include
Acts 5;3-4
New International Version
Then Peter said, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied just to human beings but to God."
This passage from Acts says that the Holy Ghost is God
2 Corinthians 3;17-18
New International Version
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
Again, this passage says that the Holy Ghost is God

"Mediator - only for the 144,000?"
Why does this keep coming up?
Because it's a new concept that is nonsensical.
New? Like only since the JWs proposed it as a dogma.
