Does the Governing Body already know that Jehovah (the name) came from Babylon the Great?

  I'll start by stating the obvious... According to the Watchtower, the Catholic Church is a huge part of Babylon the Great which is led by Satan and his demons. Raymundus Martini, a Catholic Monk (who "represents" Babylon the Great to some extent), woke up one day in the 13th Century and decided to alter YHWH so it can be easily pronounced. Hence the SPANISH-ish version of YHWH was created... Jehova... (sounds something like this in Spanish: Heh-O-Va)

  I believe that, since the 1980's, when Ray Franz and others started stirring the pot in Brooklyn, many high level bethelites realized that the name of the religion really should have been

  Yahweh's Witnesses - or - YHWH's Witnesses

  But imagine having to make that change. Even worse... imagine having to finally admit that they got "Jehovah" from Babylon the Great! It's way too late to admit something like that or even claim Nu-Lite. And to mitigate this, the very few times they made any mention of Raymundus in the WT publications, they only say that he was a "monk" and stop short of saying "Catholic Monk".

  Discontinued years and years ago.

  That's why the Borg requested "older" publications to be sent in to KH's by elders a few years ago.

  Probably to be destroyed.

  Do you use the name Jesus?

  Using Jesus is perfectly fine although no 1st century Jew or Greek ever pronounced it that way. Why? Because it's an English spelling and pronunciation of the name.

  Same thing for Jehovah, it's an English spelling and pronunciation of the tetragrammaton.

  Arguing that Jehovah is not the way that Jews pronounced the name makes as much sense as saying you shouldn't use Jesus because no early disciple of his ever said it that way.

  It’s amazing to me that the JWs as a whole never think about the Catholic Church as the source of the New Testament. This “whore of Babylon “ started by Jesus himself and his apostles (according to the internet) are evil and cursed but their book, the Bible, that’s the word of God.

  Where do JWs think the Bible came from?

  Don't they know it’s from the Catholics?

  YHWH the divine name can be translated many different ways.

  Exactly the same with every other name in the Bible translations many differ.

  All name starting with J. Jesus, John, Job, Jonah……. And all the other names starting with J.

  The J is next a guess really because there were no J’s in the original.

  All names starting with J or not came from Babylon the great. They may not be quite right but they may be the best that can be done.

  Isn't that true for every other name that appears in the Bible? All the Hebrew names of the Bible were latinsed during the middle ages by Catholic churches or other groups where Y was being replaced by J. Yeshua, became Iesus and then became Jesu / Jesus during the use of the King James Bible in 1611 and thereafter.

  All the names in the Bible that are now used are not the original pronunciations, but the English language versions of those. Not sure why Jehovah should be treated differently. Biblical names evolved and were latinised during the time when Catholics were a majority and that why the Latinised names have come from them.

  This is also something that happens with a lot of names, even today. Take a common name like John. It is spelled and pronounced differently in Spanish than in English, and I assume it is also spelled/pronounced differently in many other languages. If the spelling and pronounciation of his name was that important, god could have taken care of that when he invented all of those languages at the tower of Babel.

  As brought out numerous times christians were to be witnesses of Jesus, not jehovah. So the the correct scriptural name should be "Jesus christian witnesses"

  Think of that question first and then answer that before posting such a question.
