1) i think it's ridiculous to tell anyone when and how to use something they paid for ( computers and internet service ).

2) i think it's ridiculous to tell married couples how to act in the bedroom.

3) i think it's ridiculous to tell people what kinda cars they should buy ( 4 door for fieldservice ).

Great post Juan. Unfortunately, for the lurkers here, it would carry no weight. Nothing can change their mind that scholars back the NWT as being the most accurate... too bad.

I remember a post last year speaking about [john8:58] when Jesus declares himself as I AM [Greek=egO eimi]

NWT translates as 'I have been'

The difference being that Jesus saying "I AM" equates him with God and "I have been" does not.

For some of these lurkers, it didn't matter that the Jews with Jesus wanted to kill him for blasphemy, [ I mean, that alone proves the inaccuracy of the NWT]. no no, "I have been" is completely correct and in the perfect tense. End of discussion.

These people aren't stupid, they just put up mental roadblocks that prevents them from seeing the truth.

I am [of course] speaking of a minority on this board.

Hello to everyone.... and could I ask a really basic question here please...

i'm james i'm new to this forum as of today and i'm a ex-jw who was "born into the truth" and then left it officially at the age of twenty after "drifting out" of it for some time.

i'm now 34 and whilst i'm not exactly happy with the world i'm living in, i'm largely happy with my own life.. one question i've got about this forum - i didn't join for a long time because i thought it was for active jw's (based on the web-site url), not ex jw's, but then looking at the threads, it seems it is more for ex-jw's!

what is the demographic for the membership?

Hi James and welcome to the site, or should I say 'community', because this is a exactly that.

Although there are a lot of active/fading/ex JWs, there are also atheists, Christians, Jews and other non-christians. I think everyone here has a Watchtower branch of some kind, otherwise, why would they be here?

Myself, I have never been a JW, but I've spoke with plenty of them at my door, in my house and at the Kingdom hall.

My brother was left his faith over 20 years ago and his membership with the Watchtower has impacted our whole family [do I have to say in a negative way?].

I'm here to learn more about the JW mindset and to see how I could help him and his family leave 'The Truth' tm .

so we lost our religion and its time for us to decide which religion to switch, i was sincere so i wanted to do his will as i was taught.... so many here still believe in god and christianity.

so my question for you is.

what makes you think that christianity is the true religion?

Anyone have a Kindle or a Nook?

i really don't like the ipad (or apple) but i think an ebook reader would be nice.

nothing made by sony though .... the amazon kindle and barnes & noble nook look to be the best (esp.

with the recent price reductions) but i'd like any insight from anyone who has one.

My wife got me a kindle for xmas. I like it alot, but I have nothing to compare it to. Easy to read, use and download books. Lots of free books on many topics. Lots more books at a few bucks, much cheaper than paperback. I think it's a good investment for any reader.

Intervention for Child Custody Cases was only deemed necessary in instances where Jehovah's Witnesses religion has been under attack during child custody cases. If either side is going to twist a constitutional religion into a child custody case, both sides still collectively fall into a system that adheres to judicial law.

Jws attack every faith. Any defense of ones faith could/would be seen as an attack against the Watchtower's lies. Lies in so many areas, how could anyone defend such bs

come on Spade. Use some common sense. The WTS lies to it's own people. In their mind, no one is entitled to the truth. no one!

They lie to you, to me to anyone and everyone.
