I can agree with you disposable hero. Many people here [and at the kingdom halls] are good decent, God fearing folks who want to know and love God. My brother is a good and decent man who loves his family and friends at his cog. There are just many things that the org does to corrupt his Christianity in my opinion.
Attacking every other faith as Satans' is bad fruit in my opinion.

i was baptised on 1st sept 1990, 25years ago today.
it is still a date with deep meaning for me.
i never dedicated my life to serving any man or any organisation, this was my choice - as a grown adult - to serve my god through jesus christ.
GIftsinmen, I am sorry that you had to endure the lies of the WTS. Some people have found comfort in reading the bible without the distortions, half truths/half lies and out right manipulation that the WTS inserts in the true word of God.
You;ll probably find that you have to overcome thoughts and ideas that have been crammed down your throat for years. With time and research, you'll find that you'll be able to move on and find a balance of life and prayer.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and everyone else who now feels "Where could I go?"

hi this is for the lurkers.. please start reading from another translation and use tools like www.biblehub.com to verify the differences you find.. biblehub has an interlinear and a strongs concordance and heaps of dictionaries and commentaries.. you don't have to be a translator but you can clearly see how the watchtower bible and tract society has changed the bible to devalue jesus, to support their idea of a paradise earth hope for christians and many other false doctrines.. i could never understand why the jw's where attacked when they chose to translate the bible - now i know.. seriously people, there are a lot smarter people than me on this forum and heaps of research.

How did the children get in? They seem too young to have been JW baptized.
a couple friends pointed me to some info on the sabbath and i just plain like it, being the workaholic i am it's a lifesaver for me and gives me the motivation to be more balanced about my business and work schedule.
so from there i looked into the adventists and found a hall near my place and went last week.
i honestly enjoyed myself and the meeting time is not disruptive and the people were great and pretty laid back.
It is my understanding that the JW history is based loosely on the SDA faith. Kinda an offshoot after the Judge heard an SDA minister (Wendell Jones I believe} and liked what he heard.
As far as there not being a real truth, I would disagree. Jesus did start a church some 2000 years ago or so.

There should be a different translation for English.

will mean totally different things to an American as opposed to a Brit
