  Has anyone watched the movie "Stigmata"?

  Just a movie... and not a very good one in my opinion...

  .: "Split a piece of wood and I am there. Lift a stone and you will find me."

  I think that's from the gospel of Thomas. One of the rejected gospels because it wasn;t old enough, circulated enough and/or true enough to be a true gospel.

  Other rejected gospels include the gospel of Mary, of Peter, of Judas to name a few others. Interesting reading, but labeled as books not worthy enough for the bible cannon. Interesting that they used a Padre Pio look- a-like. Devout catholic priest who had the stigmata for decades according to his peers. Others thought he did it to himself.

  More typical watchtower jealousy. The Catholics have been talking about flying around in heaven for thousands of years, It's all over the bible. About time that the watchtower got on board.

  the nw translation and some of its unique renderings, like john 1.1- "a god," and colossians 1.16 - "all other things," have been consistently at the top of the most debated topics here in this forum and elsewhere from the beginning.

  the anger felt by detractors of the nwt rendering of john 1.1 (a god) has diminished considerably if compared to the furious debates surrounding the verse that raged on during the 1950 thru 1970s.

    Yes I am. How could I say such a thing? Look at the fruits. I gave you real examples of fruits that the Church that Jesus started has given the world. You on the other hand have not named 1 JW fruit. Everyone knows that the bible is a catholic book. How could the watchtower [or anyone else] be a better authority on it? Name a JW fruit or truth that would convince anyone?

    You go on thinking what you like of the pope and the vatican and the million tons of gold they have taken from the people over the millenniums, I will go on thinking what I think

    Nothing like a little reality, eh? The church started by Jesus has never taken gold, it has only received what has been given. You are not being polite, you have no answer and would rather lie to yourself than try to lie to me it seems.

    How could you stay with an organization that claims truth, yet has none. You know a tree by it's fruits. Are the catholic fruits good? Are schools, hospitals, foodbanks, old age homes, homeless shelters, etc etc good? Can you even acknowledge the good in these things? If you cannot, then you are lying only to yourself. You have my pity.

  Closest to the truth?

  i know many jws that state that the watchtower corporation is the 'closest to the truth'.

  thus they quiet their cognitive dissonance.. i don't have access to a corporation library any more.

  is this a stance that the watchtower corporation has actually claimed?.

  Well, why not go to the source? The Catholic church gave the world the bible. The Catholic church gave the world the name Jehovah. The Catholic church gave the world schools, hospitals, orphanages, food banks, homeless shelters, old age homes and has shown all people how to love more than just love amongst themselves.

  These are all real and true fruits. Name a JW fruit if there is such a thing please.
