If there is no worship at the kingdom hall, then where and when does one worship? Does one worship with others? -

What's a word that describes the way Witnesses behave as a group?
by paul from cleveland ini can't recall the word that describes a group that keeps to itself like the witnesses do.
i thought it was "insular" but i don't think that's the one i'm looking for after reading the definition.
i remember an elder using the word "clannish" and that has the proper definition but it reminds me of a group of elves.

My first thought was delusional.
Then I read DOCs word sanctimonious - making a show of being morally superior to other people.
synonyms:self-righteous, holier-than-thou, pious, pietistic, churchy, moralizing, preachy, smug, superior, priggish, hypocritical,insincere;informalgoody-goodybut the winner [of my top three] might be orphancrows word in another thread
"otiose"
adj: serving no useful purpose; having no excuse for being
adj: producing no result or effect

Can any believer make a case for the superiority of faith over knowledge?
by Half banana ini find it curious why so many here on this site, in the face of factual evidence for things such as evolution and the impossibility for anyone to make a coherent interpretation for the bible, would still prefer faith to knowledge?.
can any believer attempt a defence of this position?.

Creation, evolution, a big bang ? These things are all theories. None are defined as facts, so why would anyone expect all people to acknowledge these things as facts? -

When Did Higher Education Become Taboo?
by Wild_Thing ini have been reading about the early history of russelites/jws and in the beginning, it seems the organization was formed and headed by quite a few educated people.
lawyers, doctors, businessman.
you could buy voting rights within the organization for $1000, which by today's standard would be somewhere between $15,000 and $20,000, something most of us do not have on hand, unless you are highly educated and/or wealthy.

occasionally, some scholars publish articles where they voice their opinion against the nwt theological renderings.

One good fruit, OK how about the FACT that JWs are the only option fulfilling what Jesus said in Matt 24:14 "This good news of the Kingdom will be preached to all the nations"
Please tell me another Church who is involved in this global preaching work? Im surprised it hasnt yet been brought up in this thread, go on which option have we all missed which is also involved in a vast global preaching campaign? Oh thats right there isnt any apart from JWs.
If the Divine name was originally from the Catholics then why did they stop using it?Former brother, if I may correct your confusion. The fact that JWs are preaching to all nations is not a fruit, It is a work. A fruit would be something good that came from that work. NO FRUITS just works that produce NO FRUITS.
Secondly, how is it that JWs take credit for bringing the good news? It's a catholic book. Are you suggesting that JWs have more missionary work than the Catholic church? No reasoning and sense in your argument.
Why did the catholic church stop using Jehovah? Because it's a made up name. If it was the true name of God, then everyone would be using the Lords name in vain just by saying Jehovahs witnesses because it is rarely used in worship in JWs and others. STILL NO FRUITS, just works that produce NO FRUITS....sorry
