Is there any evidence that the WTS stated the 20th century would be the last?
by TTWSYF ini know that other early dates are well documented leading up to 1975. it did seemed that the wts learned to stop setting dates, but i seem to recall talk about the 20th century will certainly be the last according to god's perfect timing.
i can't recall specifically where i heard such blatant rhetoric though.. anyone?
bueller?

Spiritual Welfare
by wheelwithinwheel inthis year’s “don’t give up” convention encourages theocratic welfare.
brother pioneer is doing a lot of carting and having trouble making ends meet.
his landlord doesn’t get it and decides to evict him and his wife.. .

Just borrow more money.
This evil system of things [like accountable responsibility] will be over soon and all debts will be forgiven.

Simple question for everyone
by kairos inq. how do you explain the millions that have left or were dfd/dad from jws?.
a. no evidence exists that it is the truth.. case closed....
-
TTWSYF
Another simpler question would be
"Why expect truthful answers about the bible from a group that has been around for less than 200 years instead of the people who gave the world the bible some 1700 years ago?"

Are Jehovah's Witnesses Mind Numbingly Boring To You?
by minimus ini honestly think they are the most boring people on earth!
even when they produce their so called "new light", there's no excitement.
jws just do their thing and refuse to think about their useless lives.

Very exciting to find out which scriptures are worded correctly and which ones are not. Without the Watchtower, how would I know what the bible really teaches? According to the WTS, the people who gave us the bible and had protected it for eons don't know. Only the 'pastor' found out the truth and passed it on to the 'judge' who passed it on and so on
Very exciting stuff

Gas or Electric Stove
by just fine ini am getting new appliances.
i have decided on black stainless for the finish.
the house is stubbed for gas and electric for the range.

Gas is much better for being able to adjust with real time feedback on how hot your flame is.
After having both, gas wins

What Was/Is The Dumbest JW Belief?
by minimus ini think the finished mystery book probably contains the stupidest beliefs ever recorded!
almost any prophecy publication but especially anything to do with revelation, is unbelievable!
.

TTWSYF
Another unbelievable teaching that people actually believe is that Jesus returned in 1914 [invisibly] and chose the witnesses as the 'Truth'
Don't forget 'lying for the Truth'

Jesus as God. What do JW believe?
by Th3ArCh0n ini've been looking into jehovah's witnesses beliefs and came up with a serious question, as i've found is that witnesses don't believe that jesus is god, same with the father.
but even in the new world translation, isaiah 9:6 (one of the ancient prophecies of jesus christ) it says "for a child has been born to us,+.
a son has been given to us;and the rulership* will rest on his shoulder.+his name will be called wonderful counselor,+ mighty god,+ eternal father, prince of peace.

I disagree with David Jay [no offense Dave] in so much as I had thought the OT indicates that the Savior would be God in the flesh.
David, Who do you think the savior would be? Would it be God in the flesh or an angel of God or someone else?
Curious on your take on who you expect to be savior

When is a JW considered "awake"...?
by biblexaminer in1) they begin question .
2) they stop field service.
3) they stop going to kingdumb hall.
-
TTWSYF
Once one stops believing lies because of true reasoning, then they are awake. Even if they stay because their social and fiscal situation may be tied to the kingdom halls.
Just my h,o.
