Hi silentone, I am waiting for your story, I am looking forward to reading it.

(sorry if this is a double post - i haven't been on in awhile).
so spouse and i are completely inactive.
it's great!
Welcome Mac glad you and your wife are enjoying the freedom. As far as celebrations go be patient it just takes a while for the brainwashing and control to go. Hubby and I are really enjoying all the celebrations now. Your story really gives me hope that my family will see sense and wake up. So many long time JW's seem to be waking up.
All the best to you both. RosePetal
hey folks.
this is my first post, and i figured i might as well tell my story and state why i'm here.. i'm the offspring of a elder and ex-pioneer.
being so raised, i was very serious about the truth as a youngster.
HI JkL I know what it is like to be a born in and have family [control] mine was with abuse involved mental and physical, and it is a very brave thing when young to stand up and make those decisions. We have to remember that our families are controlled so I wish you the best in your future of freedom. Just be patient with your mum and dad, I will be praying that they wake up and make the same brave break from the organisation to freedom.
As you are going to fade at least you will be able to keep contact with them.
All the best RosePetal
this journal is for jehovahs witnesses throughout the whole of the earth, whether active or inactive, it will be beneficial for everyone associated with the organisation today.
firstly let tell you a little about myself, i have been totally involved with the society since 1967, and a pioneer for many years, giving 100 hours each month, service to my god.
i was concerned when i read your watchtower of june 15th 2009, where it finally admitted the governing body represents the faithful and discreet slave class.
Thank loz sent you one back.

Hi moshe just another point that I missed concerning that there is no uncertainty for Christians, I was particularly talking about the Bible's doctrine of Gods creative power, his redemptive power by means of Christs sacrifice and the forgiveness of sins through his shed blood. These doctrines are indisputable among Christians, they may differ about some details but on the whole it is essentialy the same. During the reformation Christians knew about Justification and grace not works alone would save us and many were put to death for it but were still very much bogged down by sectarianism and religion itself, and many Churches are still like that today. This will not effect their salvation but it can block the Holy Spirit from moving on from traditionalism, but at some time God will move them on.
On the other hand when you get on the subject of once saved always saved predestination and certain prophecies many other epistemological studies, that is not what is essential for salvation these details will be revealed in time. We can allow ourselves to speculate but not get bogged down thinking this is what will save our life.
In the NWT translation it says in John 17 v 3 'There taking in knowledge of you' The NIV says not 'knowledge' that will save us but 'knowing him' , having extensive Bible so called knowledge is not what will save us but truly 'knowing him that was sent' will. Putting faith in his sacrifice.
A quick point about predestination we must remember that as humans we live in linear time, and in four dimentions the fourth one being time. Scientists and governments have spent billions of dollars on searching for black holes, dark matter, and cosmic strings. Their conclusion is that they know for certain there exists at least ten dimensions, something that one particular Rabbi in the middle ages a hebrew scholar his name [his name alludes me at the moment] could have saved the scientists billions of dollars by reading his documentations he calculated in his writings that there were at least ten dementions. Obviously like any theory proof is always needed. The point is though scientists have no problem believing in a multi-dimentianal universe and that time itself is fluid and is not constant.
So anything is possible with God. Linear time has no meaning for him only for us, for he does not live in our time frame. WOW
Well moshe RosePetal has gone to bed and I am drinking my ovaltine, [ I am living in England] my brain hurts and I've got a big day at work tomorrow.

Hi moshe I do sympathise with how you feel we must remember that I too had been a JW for over thirty years and we are both victims of a terrible tragedy a large chunk of our life has been misdirected. What I have gained is experience and discipline so not everything is entirely wasted. At the moment perhaps the difference between us is I did not want to throw out the baby with the bath water.
Although I was determined to retrieve whatever relationship I thought I had with my God I was perplexed as where else to go, as the JWs had demonised every other Christian faith I am sure you can relate to that. You are right though, many Churches throughout the world haven't got their act together and are still stuck in the reformation, but what I have come to understand is the body of Christ or the Church is individuals made up of various nominations, they may not always agree with what is going on in their individual Churches, the point I am trying to make is that many Christians today although may be members of their Church, put their relationship with God the doctrine of Christ the apostles and prophets first without fear of being shunned by their fellow worshippers.
This may seem like a paradox but we are talking about true unity not JW uniformity but true Christian freedom.

To moshe and BB Thanks for your comments I respect both your points of view, to BB I know where you are coming from but I have left replacement theology well behind. Read Romans 9 - 11
To moshe as far as I am concerned I believe the Bible shows us that the Holy Spirit dwells within the body of Christ and there is no uncertainty for individual Christians. But when it comes to interpretation the Holy Spirit encourages us to search the Scriptures unlike the JWs who make predictions and change their mind when it has not been fulfilled, the body of Christ allows the Holy Spirit to distinguish what is definately the work of the Holy Spirit , but the Bible encourages us to speculate because that is how the Spirit can sometimes reveal itself because it wants us to continue to search. Matt. 7 v 7 Keep on seeking and you will find. We must never assume that our speculation won't lead to a better understanding of the Scriptures. The Holy Spirit is not a hit and miss affair or a human finger moving on a glass.
Remember we don't need to be inspired as the prophets and the apostles were. The finger print of the Holy Spirit is written on every page of the Bible. The problem that all of us have is because of our prior doctrinal bias we may not always identify what the Holy Spirit is telling us the fault is ours not God.
Best wishes to you both. RosePetals other half

Thats why you have to test the spirits old bean, if we fall for every suggestion of Holy spirit we end up dissapointed and cynical. That's why when the two nice ladies ladies called at our doors instead of testing the spirits we dicided to put our brains away and stop thinking for ourselves, as no doubt those ladies had done years before.
Fool me once shame on you fool me twice shame on me as the saying goes. The Holy Spirit is never ambiguous only our perception of its direction. Thats why speculation, conjecture and debate is healthy, it is only when we start becoming dogmatic like saying the Holy Spirit has directed me to do this or that and you have got to believe in that direction I have been given, or you can't be friends with me any more.
If we feel moved by the Holy Spirit we have to recognise the possibility that it could only be speculation and people have the right to choose to be doubtful of it. But we should never assume that the Holy Spirit is not working on a person. Christian freedom is wonderful.
And that is what cults take away from people, that is having the Holy Spirit dwell within you, freedom of choice, and if you don't believe in us you just as well be an athiest, which plays right into their hands.

Hi bible brain All very interesting, I fear you are suggesting we follow the same channel but just another branch , we have already had our imaginations stretched to the limit, I hope this is just speculation on your part. Any serious and experienced Bible student particularly ex JWs have had quite enough of false predictions and date setting.
The watchtower organisation is not connected to any prophetic prophecies other than what Jesus said about guarding against false prophets. Matthew 24 v 4 7& 5 . The leadership at Jerusalem i.e. the older men and apostles were not a governing body and each congregation was autonomous, as you have said every annointed Christian has the means to be guided by the Holy Spirit as individuals.
The watchtower organisation didn't have a recognised governing body until the 1980's and then that came about under much dispute. As far as the faithful and discreet slave is concerned it isn't subject to a select few but is given to all who ask for his spirit. Stop thinking watchtower. None of us who have been struck by the watchtower tetsy fly want to be lulled into another coma. The question you need to ask yourself 'who are the annointed Christians today' ? or rather the faithful servant, as a man of long Bible experience and one that has identified grave errors in the watchtower doctrine I am surprised that the Holy Spirit has not revealed to you that all Christians today can be called faithful servants and are all the body of Christ, following any man or organisation misses the point. It is Christ we follow directly Matthew 10 v 7-9.
