What did you find upset elders the most ?
by KAYTEE inwhat i found that upset elders more than most things was, when you made them verify their statement with scriptural backing.. when you showed their complete lack of common sense coupled with lack of christian knowledge.. on one occasion when having a heated discussion, i constantly made them refer to the org.
book for the answer, they ridiculed me, saying "are you getting your little green book out again".. all i was trying to point out was the answer (according to the society) on the subject at hand, most organisation will have some sort of code of conduct, the little green book was theirs.. they wanted to be right in all things even if it meant going against the org.. kt.

by oompa inyou gotta read this to beleive it!.....lately my mind is teaching s we had that "went beyond what is written" and this subject on self defence has cracked me up!!
!.....you if gotta see this to believe it!....not just guns....but almost everthing is bashed...they did leave out the option of us carrying a sword o.j.
style....or a spear.....this will make my list....(and you can have no privileges if you carry a gun at work...cop or security guard).......... *** g91 7/8 p. 12 self-defensehow far can a christian go?

I was speaking for myself. Did'nt say all of us. Many xtians I know would do the smart thing and blow someone away rather than let them enter their house and fuck with their family. Let God sort 'em out, etc. I said "alot of us". And I was'nt screwed up as badly as many. My dad's the only elder I know who has kicked TWO asses at jw functions, while in a servant position. So, I had a different view. STILL to passive initially, though.

Not surprising. Many on this forum who are aghast @ all other JW arguments still subscribe to this one. The christian ethic has really screwed alot of us up. Me too, until I had kids. That changed that pacifist, give your life for even your enemy bullshit toute-suite for me.

Wow, beks. For once I agree w/ you (actually more than once ). I've never understood what was so "compassionate" and "Liberal" about allowing illegals to come here jsut to be used as slave labor. That being said, it's not the ranchers problem what law enforcement, govt. etc. is doing about it one way or another. Protecting his family and property, however, is.

he's the product of divorce, is adhd and has been in trouble with the law.. he is very rebellious and has no job yet always has his booze and pot.
his mother cannot control him at all.. how would you deal with such a situation?.

Boot camp only works for Delinquents (conduct disorder). If he's emotionally disturbed, which sounds more likely, it would be counterproductive. He needs diagnosis and the appropriate therapy. I worked in group homes for years. These two things can present almost the same, but the treatment is entirely different.
