GB disassociates itself!!

as you have admitted, the watch tower bible & tract society did join the united nations as a non government organization in 1992 ending in 2001, and according to the following watch tower this means that by their own actions they disassociated them selves from jehovahs organization which means that we must treat them like disfellowshiped ones.
in other words they are no longer jehovahs witnesses or have any right to that name.

The WTS didn't become "involved" with the UN, not in any shape, form, or fashion. The WTS merely became a "member," remember?
Hey, yadirf, what if as a JW I merely became a "member" of the church of satan, merely to further the wbts goals? Would that be o.k w/ them? Would you check for me? And since when were there "rank & file" jw's? I thought they were all supposed to be equal?

Long assemblies
by freedom96 inthere have been a couple of postings lately about long assemblies.. does anyone remember these, or maybe even attended them?.
i was just a young child in the early 70's and something tells me i remember a long assembly, but don't remember if it was 8 days.. how long were they exactly, and what times.
what the hell did they talk about???.

I attended an 8 day the same way your daughter did mulan, in utero, 1968. It may even have been vancouver, I'll ask my mom. Yep, I remember them being so long that it was dark at the stadium in oakland when it got over, in june or july. I hated staying so long, I can remember being 3 & 4 years old & it feeling like torture. Really, it was. Expecting a 3 year old to stay quiet & sit still 8-12 hrs.? That's abuse in and of itself.

KPD, Congratulations!!!!!! I understand somewhat, I just had a baby a few mo. ago., & tore some people new ones on the silentambs board, & engaged in some talk w/ some a-holes that did'nt deserve my attention, & was also accused of being "another poster" as well.
Beyond that, How do you like beinga dad? Boy of girl? I personally am having the time of my life!

Question about reproof
by Sirona injehovahs witnesses over on another board are telling me that elders can reprove someone (who sinned and is repentant) privately and that that person does not lose their priveledges.
has anyone here been reproved and kept all their congregation duties?
if so, what does "reproof" actually mean?.
