so far i've had so many wonderful replies to my questions that i dare to venture one more here.. i will tell you a story about abuse in my family by a guy that has become an elder lately.

i will however change some details as i am still afraid to be recognised and dfd (i faded away very happily).. about 10 years ago a member of my close family was raped by a guy.

even though he was 'only 16' (this has been said as an excuse which really pisses me off), he was raping her when she was only 7 years old!!!

I know I cannot really do smth about it esp as I have faded away and do not want to be Dfd.

I'm sorry, but I can't sympathize w/ you. If you live in a mandatory reporting state, as a publisher, you are considered an ordained minister., & REQUIRED to report this. If not, you are morally obligated to do so. This man raped a 7 yr. old girl. SEVEN YEARS OLD!!!! These people, rapists, do not "get better"! Your needs to remain "non-df'd" are totally irrelavant. You can report this anonymously, if need be.

after reading the post on how to "treat your husband," i'd like to know if any men here actually feel this way about women.

everyone jokes around about male/female relationships, but how many really think women are inferior?

i know from some serious posts i've read here, that a few of the men must have really been hurt by someone.

But seriously, I DO agree w/ some of thi chis post, their are extremist women who hate men, & have an agenda. Feminism ,unfortunately, like many "movements" has become the near opposite from what it started as, From a "Let's empower each other" to "Lets preach a "victim" philosophy, i.e all heterosexual intercourse is rape, etc. Sick.

It would be nice to hear from the men . . . I wonder why some men feel intimidated by intelligent, assertive or sexy women . . .Men???

In answer to this question, stupid, passive,or aggressive, non-sexy people are generally intimidated by those smarter, more assertive & sexy than them. Period. Men like that are wussies, little boys w/ no sense of self, & are to be pitied. They are the equivalent of these "Victim" feminists. Who are also usually stupid, passive, or aggressive for that matter, & no matter how pretty, generally as sexy as masturbating with a cheese grater, you know, slightly amusing, but generally just painful.

Fifteen Years Ago...

i was baptised at a local circuit assembly.

it didn't seem a big deal at the time, as i'd grown up as a jw, and getting baptised was just a rite of passage for jw youths.

fortunately my parents had the attitude that you don't need to get baptised until you're an adult, so as a teenager i didn't have the pressure to get baptised, although i was expected to once i reached my adult years.. the year before my baptism was rather traumatic.

Congratulations & I'm sorry. I had a similar experience in that my dad died when I was 15 & my mum married not one, but two witnesses w/ mental/emotional problems, & they both had the jealousy issues. I'm sorry that your father was so weak & rejected his daughter in favor of a harpy, I was just thinking about this today, as I heard someone on a radio program w/ similar issues. The host said they abdicated their parental responsibilities, & I suddenly got so damn angry at my mother for doing the same. I had'nt really thought of it that way, but she did. So did your dad. He should have either stood up to the harpy or tossed her out on her arse. But see, the jw's enable that kind of behavior, if kids don't like being thrust into an unnatural situation, their expected to shut up & take it. I'm sincerely sorry, not only for the loss of your mum, but the loss of your absent, selfish father as well. You may not see it that way, But I work w/ kids whose parents did the exact same thing every day. He abdicated, & was weak & selfish.

Are JW kids really better that Christendom's or even the world's?

i dont mean to put down my cousin but if she and her boyfriend (now husband) have been loyal jws all their lives why is it that he was arrested for cocaine posession, (he was actually trafficking while a jw!!!!

)she got knocked up by him, and then they got married by a judge instead of an elder.

do these sound like jw kids or do they sound like the real jw kids that you dont see on the poster or cover of awake.

Well, that depends on what you call better. The dubs have an 80% disfellowshipping/leaving rate for kids raised in it. So, i don't know if they are better or worse. But they are certainly a lot smarter!!!

Oh really? like he can't handle it? I am so tired to see these statements still equating Jehovah with the Watchtower bible & tract society inc.

Also, I find your initial comment to be insensitive yo victims of lies, abuse & cover ups,

I choose not to bash jw's for my mother is one.

How is this relavant? Does that automatically make them right? Does she come to this site?

Well, yeah, that'd be really, really nice. Especially after me and/or people in my immediate family have been assaulted, raped, molested, & stolen from to the tune of a few hundred thousand dollars, & had houses likely burned by people in the jws. Also had inheritances from non-jw great grand parents stolen by jw grand parents while still a jw. I personally have been beaten senseless by more than one jw & been told too "Let it go, jehovah will take care of it". This is the attitude that is precisely the prob. inside the jw's.

Let it go, he says. Let the kids inside get raped over & over, cause, well, hell, i'm out, that's there problem now.

I'm sorry, I personally think it's ok to be angry about these issues, I personally think it's ok to go after the bastards that do these things. I know we were'nt taught much of a social conscience inside, but if you wanna play the old "Jehovah & his son Jesus" card, Go read your bible. The parable of the good samaritan is not about "spiritual food" as the jw's would have you believe. It's about real food, real care, & following that is what matters if you are a christian, buddy, not sitting on your ass in front of a computer loftily telling others to "Get over it!" Have you had any of the above experiences happen to you at their hands? Do you know of any children who were/are abused inside? If you were a publisher, you are legally bound to tell the proper authorities in most states. If you have'nt been thru any of the above, I envy you. But dont come on here telling others to just Let it go, pal
