I collect vintage ties, have since b4 i left. I have hundreds, mostly from the 1940's-60's. I had one that had mirrored scrollwork down the front that I got at a garage sale. Sitting in the meeting one day, I realized that it was mirrored calligraphy. The word? Bullshit. Talk about feeling weird for the rest of the meeting...

Thinking out loud about God - searching concavities and convexities
by gubberningbody inbefore people imagine that "foreign"="more correct" and launch themselves off into eastern religious thought, i think one might consider the book "truth in religion", and "how to think about god - a guide for the 20th century pagan", by mortimer j. adler.
in the former he examines various religions for the claims each make with regard to "truth" and makes, a good case in my view for a rational analysis of religion as opposed to making affirmations based on emotion.
in the latter, he makes an analysis of various ways to examine what is meant when people talk about god.. .

Entertaining: Snack Foods
by cameo-d inwhat would you serve as a substantial snack food for mid-afternoon?.
i am not looking for anything formal like tea and crumpets.. i am not looking for prissy stuff like raw carrot sticks.. i am not looking for something expensive like fancy wine and cheese.. not looking for anything really really sweet, either.. .
i am looking for man-food....like maybe something that would go with deviled eggs.

Jesus not crucified on torture stake. Impossible!
by sacolton inunwittingly the germans, during wwii, they experimented with many, many ways for killing people, efficiently and quickly.
their records show that when a person is suspended with their hands over their head, as they would be on the jw "torture stake," they can survive for approximately one hour.
if their feet are tied down, as well, the time is reduced to about 15 minutes.. .

Who cares? Ok, I'll bite, I DO care. But not about the geometry of torture. I care about the "Snuff porn" our kids are exposed too, every time they walk into a church, or open "My Book of bible stories". Or even driving down I-5 when some eejit farmer puts up a sign w/ a pic of a hand with a stick shoved thru it, blood spouting out, "He died for your sins"! You can't see naked tits in public, but you can sure see blood guts, murder, torture and trauma. And i'ts wrong.
